Crossing the Border (Rania) novel Chapter 48

Rama had been staying inther bedroom for four days now after the incident with Maximus, that almost killed her. The king had many twisted her, after he took her back to her bedroom, once Lula said she would be fine.

Kean would come thing her food, but Rania would pretend to be asleep, so she didn’t need to interact with her. She kept the poisson un the bookshelves, behind a book that she read recently.

However, Raincountroid Kean all the time, since she would come at least thrice a day to bring her food.

“How are you feeling Kean asked, she looked Rania’s bandaged neck, the look of pity and empathy were written all over her face. “I am sorry you have to go through this.”

“He was having a nightmare, he didn’t know what he was doing.” Rania was surprised to find herself defending

Maximus.

Yet, Kean heard that ass iff Runia didn’t want to admit that she was being injured by the king, and refused to see how bad her situation was.

“Don’t worry, everything will be alright. We will go through this together,” Kean said gently, as she held Rania’s hands. She was sitting on the edge of the bed. Her clear brown eyes stared at Rania with sincerity. “I see the king has not yet wisited you. But, I believe he will come eventually.”

“Tell me about it…. Rumia wanted to know what was going on. “Tell me everything that you know.”

Kean knew what Ramin meum, thus she told her everything that she knew about the movement to dethrone the king

After Kean lost all of her family, she was approached by someone, who was one of the leaders of the Movement, he offered her to work in the palace, but with the intention to take down the king.

“The king will always wage war with the other kingdoms. He will not satisfy, not until he gets everything under his thumb. bun exem so, he will not stop. He is called a Mad King not only because he killed all of his family, but also because he is a bloodthirst shifter. It is in his blood.”

Kean then continued to say that as long as the war occurred, there would be a lot of people died during the invasion and was exem more family lost their family members. Kean was only one case of thousands.

She looked sad..

“I am not a bad person to want other people to be killed, but the king’s existence will make thousand of life perish, and then for what?” Kean looked at Rania with sad eyes. “All of that only to satisfy his feeling, because he wants blood, and more blood.”

Rania grew quiet. Her logic told her Kean was right. Everything that she said was right. The world might be a better place without a king like Maximus.

But, a small part of her heart ached badly. He was still her mate, they were bound together. And there was no in any history of werewolves, where a mate killed their other half, because it would be the cruelest thing to do.

And for her father to ask her to do this job, just because she could be very close to Maximus, was a mind

Why should I? I don’t know them.” Rania didn’t want to sound very callous, and she could see the shock in Kean’s eyes. She lost for words for a moment. “But, maybe I will do it because he hurt me,” she added, and Kean looked relax a bit. “How many people within the palace that is part of the Movement?”

In the past, even when he apologized, he was still being beaten up, therefore, he stopped saying the word so long ago, now he didn’t understand how to use it.

“Yes.” Maximus watched two warriors were being carried away after the training ended. They had a few broken bones, because they were hesitated to attack the king.

And once the warriors left, there would be a bunch of shifters would come, to be trained as warriors. Most of them were rogue, or those shifters, who didn’t have pack, and was too poor to wonder around by themselves,

They had never short of quota for it. More so, it was in their nature to let out their feral side every now and then.

“He wants to join the palace warrior?” Eiten raised his brows incredulously. He didn’t believe that, but then Killian’s name was on the list of one thousand and two hundreds something shifter, who would join for training for another year.
