Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 170

So, in the end, Mason just sent him straight to the casino.

The Adler they were trying to find was actually Molly’s dad. Ever since Adler left the Salisbury family with Alona, he seemed to have vanished into thin air. People said Alona came home by herself with Bianca, and that was the same night that whole stabbing thing with Daniel happened. But if Adler went with them, why didn’t he come back too?

Even Molly had no way to reach her dad now. The last thing she heard was a text from him two days ago. It said, [Molly, bring five hundred thousand to this address and save me. Don’t tell anyone.] He sent a location pin with it, and it turned out to be an underground casino.

Molly went back and forth in her mind all night, but finally told Mason about it. Mason, for some reason, didn’t want to get involved himself. Instead, he had a friend go with Molly to check it out. But when they got there, Adler was nowhere to be found. The people at the casino seemed nervous and kicked them out right away. After that, Molly tried calling and texting her dad again, but it was like he’d completely disappeared.

All of this made Wiona even more certain that if she wanted answers about Alona, Adler was the key. And Molly was seriously worried about her dad. Wiona knew she had to help.

Dr. Monroe was already under Wiona’s control. She had enough on him to make sure he’d eventually give up something useful.

“Mason, did you make some powerful enemies or something?” Wiona asked one day. She really respected Mason’s skills. In just a year and a half, he had turned ‘24 Cafe’ into a hot spot for all the city’s rich and famous, and made her enough money to buy her new place. She noticed Mason was the type who could handle anything she threw his way, always coming up with a solution. The more she worked with him, the more she realized he was almost unstoppable in Stonehill.

But just recently, she’d found one thing Mason wouldn’t do. He refused to deal with places like underground casinos.

When she asked, half teasing and half serious, Mason just gave her a helpless smile. “Boss, you’re overthinking it. I’ve got my reasons. Things happened in my past that made me swear off those kinds of places forever. Sorry if that’s a letdown.”

She couldn’t help but think, What about all the shady business going on at the cafe? But she didn’t say anything. Everyone has their own past, and she wasn’t the type to dig where she shouldn’t. As long as Mason stayed loyal, she wasn’t going to question his abilities over this one thing.

“Boss,” Mason said, suddenly changing the subject, “that guy from yesterday, he’s Mr. Conrad Sullivan, right? If you need to find Adler, maybe he could help. It’d probably be faster.”

“If I rely on him for everything,” Wiona said, “I’ll never get free.”

Mason adjusted his glasses, looking a little confused, but didn’t push it.
