"William?" I caressed William's face, prompting him to tell me what was wrong.

William said nothing as he tossed the phone before me.

I picked up the phone and saw the message Justin had sent him. "Don Moretti, I don't want you to be kept in the dark about this. Camille was my lover, but she married you while she was pregnant with my child and has lied to you since."

Just to prove his point, he had even sent old pictures of us getting intimate. I trembled with rage when I saw the pictures. I didn't think Justin would stoop so low.

"I ended things with him a long time ago, William. You're the one I love the most," I said in a quaking voice as I burrowed into William's embrace.

He didn't shove me away, only leashed his rage as he slid his arms around my waist.

"Of course I believe you, sweetheart." William kissed my earlobe as he added, "I'm just angry—not at you, but at the fact that you don't rely on me enough."

Heartache filled his gaze, but all I felt was warmth. To everyone else, William was the ruthless, unforgiving Don Moretti. However, to me, he was my devoted and ever-loving husband.

"He hurt you and Shanna. Shall I have him and his family sent out to sea?" he asked tenderly.

However, I shook my head. "I don't want them to disappear so easily. I want them to lose everything, and at the same time, I want to dangle my happiness in front of them."

William agreed without hesitation. I asked him if he thought I was petty and cruel, but he simply answered, "Sweetheart, the only way I see this is that I don't love you enough to banish all your self-doubt."

He kissed me, and I didn't dodge. I couldn't care less that my phone screen kept lighting up with texts from Justin, for I'd already abandoned myself to William's gentle but heated show of passion.
