Justin's eyes lit up when they met mine. He approached us and reached for Shanna's face. "Hey, sweetie. Let Daddy take a good look at you."
However, Shanna smacked his hand away. "You're weird, mister. I already have a dad. Are you a patient who ran away from the psych ward?"
Justin's smile began to slip. He fished out his phone and showed Shanna our old pictures, telling her all about our past relationship.
However, Shanna didn't even look at those pictures and only buried her face in the crook between my neck and shoulder. "Gosh, Mommy, I can't believe you almost married a man like him! How terrifying.
"Thank goodness you married Daddy in the end. Daddy's tall and handsome, and he doesn't mess around with other ladies. I'm glad you became Daddy's wife."
I caressed Shanna's little face and happily promised to take her out for ice cream later.
Justin yelled after us, "Why would you lie to yourself and the child like this, Camille? You know you love me!"
My steps ground to a halt. Elated, Justin ran up to me and said in my ear, "Listen to me, Camille, I swear Felicia and I have divorced. All you have to do is help me take over the Moretti family, and I'll make you my one and only wife."
I lifted my gaze to his face, which was lined with greed and wild ambition. Suddenly, the upstanding and righteous Justin I used to know was gone, and in his place was a self-serving, greedy bastard who only used women to get what he wanted.
I coolly signaled the bodyguards behind me, who stepped forward and pinned Justin to the ground. Much like how Justin had his bodyguards hold me down during our wedding day five years ago while they took off my wedding dress, I had my security detail take off his suit.
"You're the scum of the earth, Justin. I stopped loving you a long time ago.
"William is the one I love most now, and he's my husband! He has more charm and power in one finger than you do in your current state. I wouldn't dream of hurting my beloved husband for a bastard like you!"
