Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 566

Three little words—like ice water dumped over his head—snuffed out every last bit of heat in James.

He stared at Emmy, his brows furrowing into a sharp line.

Emmy opened their chat and handed him her phone, her eyes steady and voice clear. “I don’t keep secrets from you. See for yourself.”

She was calling him out, plain and simple.

James took the phone in silence and scrolled quickly through the messages.

Right then, another voice call request popped up on the screen—the third one.

James looked at Emmy. “Not going to answer?”

Emmy thought about it, then shrugged. “Why don’t you do it for me?”

You could see the storm brewing in James’s eyes.

Suddenly, he leaned in and kissed her hard, his grip possessive as his hand roamed over her body.

It didn’t take long before Emmy couldn’t hold back, her soft gasps slipping out between their lips.

Only then did James let her go, his breath ragged, her lips swollen from his kiss. He pressed the voice message button, sending over a recording filled with her breathless sounds and the unmistakable heat between them.

“She’s busy. Don’t call again.”

Downstairs.

Dean heard the man’s voice through his phone, and behind it—the woman he’d been dreaming about, her soft cries clear as day.

The sound sliced through him like a knife.

His face went ghost-white. The next second, he hurled his phone at the wall.

It hit with a loud crack, then fell to the floor, the screen shattered into pieces.

But he was like a man possessed. He rushed over, knelt on the ground, and picked up the broken phone, the screen still faintly glowing. Almost like he wanted to torture himself, he replayed that voice message—again and again.

His heart felt like it was being eaten alive, a thousand ants gnawing at him, a dull blade dragging across raw flesh.

Upstairs.

James tossed the phone aside and pulled Emmy into his arms, letting himself get lost in her.

He didn’t dare go too far, worried about the baby. So he just held her hand tightly, needing her close, again and again.

By the time Emmy woke up the next morning, her wrists were so sore she could barely hold her phone.
