Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 575

Emmy paused for a second. She hadn’t expected Ivy to catch on so quickly, especially when even James hadn’t noticed. Instinctively, she glanced at the man beside her.

James just smiled, calm and relaxed. “We didn’t ask what the baby is. Boy or girl, we’ll love them all the same, so we just bought a bit of everything.”

Emmy pressed her lips together, letting the conversation drop.

After sorting through the shopping bags, she finally headed back to the bedroom, feeling the tiredness settle over her. She washed up and climbed into bed, letting out a quiet sigh. Not long after, James came out of the bathroom, holding a bottle of stretch mark oil in his hand.

He walked straight over. “Lift your shirt.”

Emmy blurted out, “Why? I’m tired tonight. Can we skip it and do it in the morning?”

James just looked at her, a little helpless, but didn’t bother to explain. He unlocked his phone, pulled up a webpage, and handed it over. “Take a look.”

Emmy eyed him suspiciously but accepted the phone. One glance was all it took for her cheeks to heat up. She couldn’t believe she’d missed something so obvious. Not only had she forgotten about taking care of her skin now that she was pregnant, she’d actually thought James had something else on his mind.

Flustered, she tried to turn off the screen and hand the phone back, but her finger slipped. The page scrolled back, and suddenly a whole list of his recent searches popped up.

What’s the best stretch mark oil for pregnancy?

What to watch for at four months pregnant?

How to make your pregnant wife happy on a date?

How to help with mood swings during pregnancy?

How to make your wife feel safe?

Can pregnant women eat hot pot?

And so on…

James quickly snatched the phone back, his ears going a little pink. “Just lie down,” he said, his tone a little stiff.

Emmy’s embarrassment melted away when she saw his flustered face. She couldn’t help but laugh.

“If I say it enough, they’ll remember,” James replied, completely straight-faced. “It’s called prenatal education. From now on, I’m going to tell them every day so they know not to mess with you.”

Emmy was laughing so much her shoulders shook. She poked her belly softly. “Don’t worry, babies. Mommy’s here. Daddy wouldn’t dare.”

She looked up at James, her eyes sparkling. “They’ve been really good, honestly. Aside from that time I couldn’t stand the sight of meat, I haven’t had any symptoms at all. They’re definitely going to be little angels.”

James kept up the gentle massage. “I’m strong, my swimmers are top-notch, and I’ve got great genes. Of course your pregnancy is easy.”

He looked ridiculously proud of himself, as if it was all his doing.

Emmy rolled her eyes at him. “Did Google tell you that too?”

James’s ears got even redder. “Not all of it. The guys at work told me some stuff.”

So he hadn’t just been researching, he’d even asked for advice. Emmy felt her heart grow even softer.

She lowered her voice. “Babe, if I end up having boy-girl twins, would you… love them even more?”
