Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 618

Emmy tipped her head back, and her eyes landed right on the faint, rosy mark on James’s neck—the one she’d left there just minutes before.

Without thinking, she reached up and looped her arms around his neck. Her voice turned soft and teasing, a hint of playfulness in her tone.

“So, are you going to carry me back to bed?”

James only leaned in closer, his body boxing her in between himself and the chair. His voice was low and rough, his words brushing right against her ear.

“We’re not going back.”

“We’ll just keep going here.”

Before Emmy could react, his lips were already on hers, stealing her breath away with a kiss that left no room for hesitation. The passion that had been interrupted earlier came rushing back, stronger and hotter than before.

She couldn’t tell if she was just too sensitive, or if James really knew what he was doing. Either way, her strength vanished, leaving her boneless in the oversized chair, letting him take the lead.

Just as they were about to go all the way, a jolt of clarity cut through her daze. Her eyes snapped open in shock.

“Wait... This is my study!”

James’s lips brushed her ear, his voice thick with longing, each word sending a shiver through her.

“Next time, we’ll use my study.”

“And the gym. The yoga room. The movie room. Let’s try them all.”

“I want every room in this house to remember us.”

He paused for a moment, the end of his sentence soft and teasing, like a feather brushing against her heart.

“Hm? What do you think?”

Emmy was left speechless.

Was this man secretly a dog or something? Did he really need to leave his scent everywhere to feel at home?

“It’s freezing out there. Why aren’t you wearing a scarf?”

As soon as she sent the message, an image of Dean’s scarf flashed through her mind. Her brows pinched together in irritation.

She was so distracted she could barely focus on her morning skincare. Sitting at her vanity, she went through the motions, mind somewhere else entirely.

“Miss, are you awake?” Ivy’s voice floated in from outside the door.

Emmy turned automatically, but her arm accidentally knocked over a bottle of toner. It rolled onto the carpet, luckily not breaking. She bent down quickly to pick it up, worried about it leaking.

As she lowered her head, she caught a flicker of red light out of the corner of her eye.

She paused, then leaned down further, peering into the shadows underneath the vanity.

In that hidden, shadowy corner, a tiny red dot blinked quietly.

Her heart skipped a beat.
