Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 622

The private suite felt more like a luxury hotel than a hospital room, with sunlight streaming through the windows and everything spotless and quiet. Abriella stood by the bed in her pale patient gown, carefully moving her arms and legs as if testing her own limits.

The moment Emmy walked in, Abriella’s whole face lit up. “Emmy! Thank god you’re here. Spill it. What’s going on?”

Emmy helped her ease back onto the bed, then sat down beside her. Will paused just long enough to give a polite nod, then slipped out, closing the door quietly behind him.

Emmy dropped her voice. “Isabel hid a listening device in my bedroom.”

Abriella stared at her, mouth open. Her shock turned to outrage so fast Emmy almost laughed.

“You’re kidding, right? Are you kidding me?” Abriella’s voice shot up. “That woman’s insane. Who does something like that? ‘The Capital’s number one socialite’? More like the Capital’s number one manipulative witch.”

She was so furious her cheeks flushed bright pink. “You know you could go straight to the police with this, right? That’s illegal. She should be arrested, let the whole city watch her reputation go down in flames. Let’s see how she acts high and mighty after that.”

She kept going, voice rising. “Honestly, I can’t believe it. Who does she think she is? Spying on a married couple’s private life, does she have no shame at all?”

Emmy waited, letting Abriella get it all out before shaking her head with a helpless smile.

“Calm down for a second. Calling the police won’t do us any good.”

“We don’t have any cameras in the bedroom. No real proof it was her. Even if they traced it back to her, she’d have a million excuses and we’d just be giving away our advantage.”

Abriella still looked like she wanted to punch a wall. Emmy reached over and took her hand, squeezing it gently.

“But we can turn this around. Use her own tricks against her.”

She leaned in, whispering her plan in Abriella’s ear.

“And if things go well, maybe we can even score a little payback for you.”

As Emmy talked, Abriella’s eyes kept getting brighter, sparkling with excitement and something close to awe. She reached out, meaning to ruffle Emmy’s hair, but winced as she accidentally pulled at her back.

She barely seemed to notice the pain. “Emmy, what is your brain made of, honestly?”

He slipped out again, pulling the door shut behind him.

Emmy grinned at Abriella. “So, has he been taking good care of you these past few days?”

At that, Abriella’s face went pink.

“He’s been amazing. Honestly, I’ve never had anyone look after me like this in my whole life.”

“It was weird at first, a little awkward. I thought maybe I was being too sensitive. But now… now it just feels right. I could get used to this.”

She fell quiet, and when she spoke again, her voice was softer, sweeter, like she hadn’t even noticed the change.

“Besides, Will said he’s going to take care of me forever. I guess I’d better start getting used to it, don’t you think?”

Emmy smiled, then asked, “What about Steve? Has he come by at all?”
