Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 655

Emmy wore a loose dress that morning, but her belly was getting harder to hide. Once she shrugged off her puffy jacket, the gentle curve of her stomach was impossible to miss.

It only took a second for everyone to notice she was pregnant. The wives of the older apprentices swarmed around her, chatting excitedly and throwing out stories and advice about babies and motherhood.

Dr. Pepper was still deep in a competitive chess match with James, both of them completely absorbed. The other men sat nearby, talking about the latest tech trends from around the world.

Just as lunch was about to start, Krystina rushed in, holding her son Ollie’s hand and juggling several big shopping bags. “Sorry we’re late,” she called out, a little breathless. “Got held up on the way.”

A housekeeper hurried over to help with the bags, but Ollie was already off and running. He shot straight toward Emmy like an excited little rocket, stopping just short of bumping into her.

He looked up at her, eyes wide with curiosity, and stared right at her belly. “Wow,” he burst out, his voice filled with wonder. “The baby sister’s gotten so big!”

He glanced up again, all innocence and hope. “Emmy, can I touch the baby sister?”

The whole room burst out laughing at his sweet question.

But Emmy remembered something. The first time Ollie ever met her, he’d told her she had a baby sister in her belly. She’d brushed it off as just a silly kid’s imagination, but now she couldn’t help but wonder. Did he actually know something?

She smiled softly and asked, “Ollie, how do you know it’s a sister?”

Ollie reached out his little hand, placed it gently on her stomach, and grinned. “I just know. I don’t know how, I just do.”

The feeling was gone, leaving Emmy both thrilled and a little disappointed. Tears pricked her eyes. She pushed James’s hand away and turned to Ollie, almost pleading. “Ollie, try again. See if she’ll move for you one more time.”

Ollie put his little hand back on her belly, waited a few seconds, then shook his head with a serious expression. “She’s tired now. She’s not moving anymore.”

Even so, Emmy felt a deep, glowing happiness settle in her chest, warm and bright. She grabbed her phone and carefully typed in her notes: New Year’s Day, first kick.

This was the first time she’d really felt her babies reach out to her. Not just hearing their heartbeats through a machine, but a real, living moment between them.

Right then, she felt it, clear as day. She was a mother, about to meet two brand new lives, forever tied to her by blood and love.
