Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 717

"Abriella, calm down!" Emmy shouted, her voice cutting through the chaos. "Bodyguards, get her away from here!"

"Emmy, don't you dare stop me! I'm not leaving until I take this evil woman down! Prison? Fine, let them lock me up. Thirty years from now, I'll still be Abriella, and I'll walk out with my head held high!"

The bodyguards grabbed Abriella, but she fought back with everything she had.

"If this secret gets out, my life is over! I’d rather go to jail than let that happen!"

She screamed, eyes darting around the room. Suddenly, she spotted a fruit knife on the table. Without thinking, she lunged for it and gripped it tight.

"Abriella!" Emmy snapped. "Think for a second!"

"If you kill her, you really think prison is all you'll get? She’s the wife of a cabinet minister. You kill her, you’ll end up facing a firing squad!"

Abriella froze, her chest heaving as she started to calm down. She was still shaking, her hand locked around the knife, but at least she had stopped struggling. Her glare never left Claudia, who was still sprawled on the floor.

Emmy’s attention turned back to Claudia. Her eyes were icy, her voice even colder.

"So you got what you wanted from us. No point hiding it anymore. I might as well tell you the rest."

"James isn't just pretending to be Mr. Nelson. He is Mr. Nelson. He’s the only heir left in the Nelson family."

"You can spread this news if you want. Go ahead, try to mess with Jared’s position in the cabinet."

"But you’d better think about what happens next."

"Your husband... Mr. Sparrow," Emmy said, her tone soft and mocking, "he won’t just be sidelined. It’ll be worse than that."

"He won’t even get a chance to run in next year’s election."

"Go on, leak it if you’re feeling brave."

Claudia stared at Emmy, the darkness in her eyes shifting to calculation. She got up slowly, smoothing out her wrinkled clothes and brushing off invisible dust.

"So you’re threatening me?" Her voice was proud, even though she looked a mess.

Emmy’s lips curled into a cold smile.

"Why not?"

"You really want Mr. Sparrow’s whole career ruined over one secret? You want him barred from the election forever?"

"If he’s out, you lose everything too. No more fancy title, no more power."

"And honestly, you might not even get to keep your life."

"It’s a pity, really. Your mother was worthless. She raised you like a delicate flower, gave you money but never taught you anything real. She never saw what you could become."

"If you’d grown up with me, you’d be unstoppable."

Emmy listened quietly, her mocking smile never fading.

"You’re wrong."

"A daughter raised by you would be no different from Evelina. Selfish, greedy, a thief in a pretty dress."

"Some things are in your blood. A different home can’t change who you really are."

Claudia’s smile froze, her eyes burning with silent rage. She didn’t reply, just touched her swollen cheek and shot Abriella a cold glare.

Emmy spoke up, her voice steady and clear. "I hit you. I’ll face Mr. Sparrow myself and explain everything."

Claudia scoffed, spun on her heel, and left the room. The door clicked shut behind her.

Abriella slumped, all the fight draining out of her. She hurried over to Emmy, her voice trembling. "Emmy, what did she mean? Is she going to spill the secret or not?"

She hadn’t gotten any real answers from Claudia, and her heart was pounding with fear.
