Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 731

Mr. Sullivan’s breath caught. His face went dark in an instant.

Mandy noticed and immediately jabbed a finger at Abriella. “Abriella, Dad already apologized to you. How can you still be so ungrateful?”

“Do you even know how hard Mom and Dad have been working for the company lately? You’re the only one out here living the easy life.”

“Mandy.”

Mr. Sullivan’s voice cut through the air, sharp and cold. “Apologize to your sister.”

Mandy pouted, stomping her foot. “Dad!”

“Apologize.” Mr. Sullivan’s tone was low but carried a dangerous edge.

Grinding her teeth, Mandy finally squeezed out the words. “I’m sorry.”

Abriella lifted an eyebrow. “Seriously, what kind of performance are you putting on now?”

“I don’t believe your apologies, not for a second. And I’m never going to forgive you, so don’t even bother.”

“I almost died. Even now the scars on my back itch and ache. There’s no way I could ever forgive you.”

Mrs. Sullivan broke down in tears, covering her mouth as she sobbed uncontrollably.

“Abriella, your dad and I really know we were wrong… truly, we do…”

“Please, just come home, okay? Bring Will too. We can all sit down and have a real family dinner.”

“We won’t ever try to force you into a marriage again. We won’t be harsh with you, either. You’re my own flesh and blood.”

She was crying so hard she could barely get the words out, her voice trembling with desperation.

“Honestly… the arranged marriage was really for your own good. You don’t know how to run a company, you don’t get the business side of things. Your dad and I talked it over. We wanted you to marry into that family, and we’d give you shares in the company as your dowry. That way, you’d have respect in your husband’s house. We really did it all for you…”

Abriella let out a cold laugh.

“Who’s buying that story? All those things, weren’t they meant for your precious adopted daughter Mandy?”

Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan both went pale. Mrs. Sullivan lifted three fingers.

“I swear, Abriella. If a single thing I just said was a lie, let me die a terrible death.”

Abriella’s heart skipped a beat and she glanced at her mother, uncertain.

She looked straight at Mr. Sullivan and said, “Fine.”

“But from now on, whenever I come home, I’m bringing my husband Will. You both have to recognize him as family.”

Mrs. Sullivan nodded so fast it looked like her head might fall off. She was desperate.

“Of course, we’ll accept him! Just tell us when you’re coming back. I’ll get your room ready right away.”

Seeing how eager they were made Abriella even more suspicious.

She couldn’t help but think they were plotting something else.

“I need a few days to think it over.”

“Okay, okay,” Mrs. Sullivan said in a hurry. “Take your time. I’ll start getting things ready now. You and Will, just let us know before you come.”

After Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan left, Abriella closed the door and rushed back to Emmy.

“Emmy, I need your help. What do you make of all this? What kind of game are they playing?”

“I just can’t believe they could change their attitude this fast.”
