Mrs. Johnson was known for her gentle nature and easy-going temperament. She harbored no ill-will towards anyone, but if there was one person she couldn't stand, it had to be Tyrone's father.
The bad blood between them wasn't something that could be easily explained away in a few sentences.
Tyrone flashed a mischievous smile and wrapped his arms around Mrs. Johnson, "That's exactly what I said! If you're not going to kick the bucket, then don't even think about coming back."
Before leaving for his trip abroad, Tyrone's father sought him out, hoping he could persuade Mrs. Johnson to let him return afterwards.
Arnold Johnson argued that he was getting on in years and, despite the allure of foreign lands, nothing could compare to the comfort of home. He wished to return to his roots.
Tyrone had scoffed at that, mocking him mercilessly, "Words once spoken and water spilled can't be taken back. If you can swallow your pride as easily as you'd eat yesterday's vomit, then we'll talk about your return."
Mrs. Johnson picked up her phone again, "Apart from being your biological father, he means nothing to me. The reason I've stayed with the Johnson family is to secure what rightfully belongs to my son. I might not always be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I will never back down when it comes to this."
Tyrone gently patted her back, "I know, don't worry, I've got this."
Mrs. Johnson playfully pinched Tyrone's arm, "You're not exactly a safe bet, you know. Hurry up and marry Quinn. I'll only rest easy with her by our side."
Mrs. Johnson had unwavering faith in Quintessa's resilience.
Quintessa had extended a helping hand when Mrs. Johnson was at her lowest and most vulnerable.
This convinced Mrs. Johnson that Quintessa was akin to a superhero, capable of anything.
Tyrone nodded eagerly, "Alright, alright... I'll get on it."
Mrs. Johnson continued with a stern face, "If Arnold Johnson has expressed a desire to return, then it's not just idle talk. He's just testing the waters with you, hmph, I bet he'll try to come back anyway."
Tyrone nodded, "I know, that's why I wanted to give you a heads up."
