Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111: The Revelation

Tatiana’s mind snapped back to reality with a jolt. She saw the man on the verge of being mercilessly beaten, and despite the sharp pain shooting through her foot, she pushed herself up and hurried forward to intervene, placing herself between Jasper and the man.

“Stop! That’s enough! You’re going to kill him!” she cried out urgently.

But Jasper didn’t even hesitate; his fists continued their brutal assault.

Desperation rising, Tatiana raised her voice louder. “Jasper! I said, that’s enough!”

She called him by his full name, and it was as if a switch had been flipped inside him. The violent fury that had overtaken Jasper abruptly ceased.

Fearing he might seriously harm the man in public, Tatiana seized the moment of his pause and wrapped her arms firmly around his forearm. “Please, just stop. Let it end here, okay?”

Jasper’s gaze slowly shifted to her—the radiant woman standing bravely before him, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and determination.

As the rage melted away and clarity returned, he did something no one could have predicted: he pulled her close and held her tightly, as if trying to fuse her very being into his own.

The grip was so fierce that Tatiana nearly struggled to breathe.

“You…” she began, breathless.

“You’re not dead,” he said quietly.

“What?” she whispered, confused.

He repeated the thought silently, as if to himself: You didn’t die. Thank God.

In the distance, police sirens grew louder, cutting through the tense silence. Jasper finally released her, stepping back.

Tatiana immediately took a few steps away, her face pale and etched with panic.

He said nothing to explain himself. Standing up, he flicked the blood from his hand and pulled out his phone to call his team.

Soon, the police and ambulance arrived simultaneously, turning the scene into a chaotic swirl of sirens, cries, and frantic movements.

The injured wailed in pain, while those unharmed still trembled from shock.

After hearing the details, a policeman glanced at Jasper with a mixture of surprise and respect. Approaching him, he said, “Young man, you showed remarkable courage protecting your girlfriend. But next time, be careful not to endanger yourself.”

Tatiana opened her mouth to respond but thought better of it, closing it quietly instead.

Eventually, everyone was taken to the police station to give statements.

The Jackson family’s legal team had already sprung into action. They took over the negotiations and managed to secure their release with minimal hassle. After all, no serious crime had been committed—at worst, it was considered excessive self-defense.

Thanks to Tatiana’s quick intervention, injuries were few and mostly minor. Only one person—the restaurant owner—was seriously hurt. Thankfully, nobody had lost their life, a small blessing amid the chaos.

The attacker was soon identified. The reason behind his violent outburst was both frustrating and tragic: a recent breakup had shattered his mind, driving him to lash out randomly at society in a misguided attempt at revenge.

Had Jasper not subdued him, the consequences could have been far worse.

And if Tatiana hadn’t stepped in when she did, Jasper himself might have been badly hurt.

But life offers no “what ifs.”

As they left the police station, Jasper’s gaze toward Tatiana felt different—intense, searching.

She didn’t dare meet his eyes.

“Tatiana,” he said quietly. “Why did you save me?”

She shook her head firmly. “My name is Cindy. I’m not Tatiana.”
