I’d previously heard that Leonardo had chosen Natalie, the Moon-Shadowed Pack’s heiress, yet an illegitimate daughter. At first, I was a bit skeptical about their match.
But the moment I saw Natalie, I was smitten. She was drop-dead gorgeous, with elegant manners and refined speech. It was obvious that she and Leonardo were a match made in heaven.
And Leonardo’s grandmother had been raving about her. Fiona had always been super picky, so if she approved, it was a done deal. I was really happy for Leonardo.
I walked over to Natalie and presented the gift I’d prepped. It was a set of super rare and pricey jewelry that I snagged at an auction in a neighboring country last night.
“Mrs. Miranda Sanchez, this is way too precious. I can’t take it,” Natalie said, looking a bit flustered.
I replied, my eyes a bit misty, “Ms. Anderson, you gotta take it. I might not be Leonardo’s birth mom, but he’s always treated me with so much respect. I’m truly grateful. I just want you two to be blissfully happy together.”
A gentle pat on Natalie’s shoulder accompanied my words. Just thinking about Leonardo settling down and starting a family? It just warmed my heart.
Leonardo’s childhood was far from easy. His mom passed away when he was young, and though his grandparents spoiled him a bit at first, his father’s iron-fisted rules took over for the rest of his upbringing. The tension between him and his dad was palpable.
Even with our short acquaintance, learning about his tough upbringing made my heart go out to him.
There was so much more I wanted to tell Natalie about how I felt for Leonardo, but then, an old acquaintance called me over from across the room.
Natalie’s POV:
Leonardo’s stepmom, Miranda, was a real looker, probably in her early thirties. She had this gentle and friendly vibe, and that warm Omega aura that made me feel right at home. She took an instant shine to me. After a bit of small talk, she whipped out a dainty jewelry box and offered it as a welcome gift-that set of jewelry that was worth a fortune.

“Mrs. Miranda Sanchez, this is just too much. I can’t accept it,” I quickly protested. In the werewolf world, taking such a lavish gift usually meant a serious level of recognition.
“Ms. Anderson, you really have to take it,” Miranda said, soft but firm, placing the box in my hands. Her eyes were starting to well up. “I might not be Leonardo’s birth mom, but he’s always treated me with so much respect. I’m truly grateful. I just want you two to be blissfully happy together.”
Touched by her genuine emotions, I could sense she had more to share about Leonardo. However, an acquaintance’s call whisked her away before she could continue.
Fiona was worried I’d get worn out from all the socializing. So after introducing me to the important folks, she pulled me to a quieter corner. “Natalie, the Sanchez family’s got a huge extended clan. There are heaps of distant relatives here today. You don’t have to chat with every single one. You’re the belle of the ball, so just chill.”
Not many from Moon-Shadowed Pack showed up. It was mostly Matthew’s family. Penelope said she was sick, and Samuel claimed he was swamped with work, but they all sent gifts. My five friends were also there. And Fiona had prepared a gift for each of them.
“Holy moly! It’s… it’s so much!” Lily exclaimed, her voice shaking with excitement as she stared at the check for 66,666 dollars. Everyone was over the moon. D
“Natalie, you gotta let me come to your wedding!” one of them pleaded.
“I swear, from now on, Natalie’s my real sister!” another one declared.
“Natalie, we’ll take on any workload at work. We’re with you all the way!” they all chimed in.
Seeing their excited expressions, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. The generosity and acceptance shown by the Sanchez family far exceeded my expectations. My initial pessimism about this high-society arranged marriage started to thaw a bit at this moment, melted by their sincere enthusiasm.
Leonardo’s kind-hearted stepmother and his affectionate grandparents made me experience a kind of family warmth I’d never felt before.
Promptly at eight o’clock, Leonardo made his grand entrance at the banquet hall door.
A perfectly tailored black suit hugged his tall frame, keeping him standing upright. The soft, shimmering light from the crystal chandeliers bathed him, accentuating his strikingly handsome profile and the inborn, regal air of a top-tier Alpha. The moment he stepped into the once-bustling banquet hall, it fell into an instant hush. Every pair of eyes was irresistibly drawn to him, for he was, without a doubt, the born spotlight-stealer.
