The master of ceremonies delivered a short yet solemn speech, and then came the ring- exchanging part. Roger and Fiona presented us with the rings. The rings had a simple design, but the high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship lent them an air of sophistication. The central diamond sparkled brilliantly under the lights, its value and symbolic meaning obvious at a glance.

As the slightly cool ring slid onto my ring finger, a whirlwind of emotions welled up inside me. This wasn’t merely a symbol of a union; in the werewolf society, it marked the start of an openly acknowledged and pack-witnessed bond. Looking up, I saw Leonardo’s hand-long, strong fingers with well-defined joints. With the ring on, he seemed even more composed and intriguingly mysterious.

“You look gorgeous today, Natalie,” he murmured, his deep voice like a gentle caress as he leaned in. The unique magnetism of his voice got to me right away.

“Thanks,” I said, feeling my cheeks heat up. When our eyes met, I was lost in his eyes-usually cold, but now sparkling like a star-filled sky-so deep that I couldn’t tear my gaze away.

I picked up the other ring and carefully placed it on his finger. “Mr. Sanchez, please look out for me from now on.”

He didn’t say a word, just wrapped his big hand around mine, warm and firm. Then, amidst the enthusiastic applause, he naturally slung his arm around my waist and pulled me close. It was a possessive and protective gesture, an Alpha publicly claiming his mate.

I was a bit shy but managed to keep it together. His move was gentlemanly and well-judged, clearly sending a message to all the werewolves there-I was the one Leonardo had chosen and would protect.

The ceremony was kept simple. After that, the elders gave speeches, and then it was time for the free-flow dining. Leonardo accompanied me to the table where my friends were sitting.

I’d originally planned to just introduce him and then let him go greet the important guests while I hung out with the girls. But to my surprise, he sat down with us.

“Let me introduce them. They were my former subordinates, good friends, and now we’re working on a project together,” I told him.

“Hello, Mr. Sanchez!” The girls jumped up nervously right away-like spooked fawns- instinctively in awe of him.

“Hello,” Leonardo replied in a deep voice and even reached out to shake hands with each of them. His unexpected friendliness caught everyone off guard, and they were all a bit flustered when shaking hands.

Lily had met Leonardo before, but she was just as nervous. His powerful aura, even when he tried to tone it down, was still intimidating. Maybe only someone like me, who’d learned to stay calm under pressure after surviving in a tough environment for so long, could stand beside him.

“Natalie, you and Mr. Sanchez are such a perfect match. I was so touched when I saw you exchange rings,” one of the girls said.

“Come on, it’s just an engagement. Why are you guys getting all teary-eyed?” I laughed.

“I’m crying because you deserve this…”

“Yeah, you finally found your happiness…”

“Mr. Sanchez, Natalie is amazing! Her looks are just the icing on the cake. You’ve got to cherish her, okay?”

Their heartfelt words in front of Leonardo made me both touched and embarrassed. I quickly tried to shush them. “Alright, alright. Mr. Sanchez, go do your thing. They’re just overhyping it. Don’t take it to heart…”

“I think they’re right,” Leonardo interrupted me softly and then sat back down. He looked around at the group, his aura still cool but his tone quite gentle. “Tell me more about what makes Natalie so great.”

Even Aaron, trailing behind, showed a flicker of surprise. Leonardo had never been so amiable with the partners of Silver-Maned Pack before.
