Goodbye My Arrogant Ex novel Chapter 13

“Excuse me, are you Mr. Foster? Mr. Howell would like to see you.”

A waiter in a crisp uniform approached with graceful steps. He offered a polite bow, his smile practiced and pleasant, then gestured toward the dimly lit balcony.

Out on the balcony, several men from the Howell family sat together, their posture rigid and the air around them heavy with an imposing authority.

Caught off guard, Fiona glanced up and met their piercing gazes—sharp as hawks, eyes that seemed almost predatory.

Instantly, fear washed over her, flooding her body until she was trembling. Instinctively, she shrank back like a frightened fawn, darting behind Benjamin and clutching desperately at the back of his jacket. Her voice broke into a sob. “Ben, I’m scared.”

A deep frown creased Benjamin’s brow. Annoyance flickered across his eyes, but his reaction was automatic; without a word, he seized Marguerite’s wrist in a grip so tight it hurt, dragging her toward the balcony without giving her a chance to protest.

“Benjamin, what are you doing? Let go of me!” Marguerite stumbled, struggling against his iron grasp, her teeth biting into her lower lip in frustration, eyes blazing with anger.

Benjamin ignored her completely, muttering under his breath, “Marguerite, as long as you apologize to the Howells today, I’ll go with you to sign the papers. Right after. I promise.”

His tone left no room for argument, as if he were granting her some extraordinary favor.

Even now, Benjamin was dangling empty promises in front of Marguerite, trying to force her to take the fall for Fiona’s supposed crime.
