Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Hera’s thoughts swirled in chaos, her heart pounding with a mixture of frustration and resolve. Yet, after a moment of silent contemplation, she reached a firm conclusion. “This is your doing, Sebastian. You have only yourself to blame for the mess you’ve created. But as for your parents… I will take responsibility for them, in your place,” she declared with quiet determination.

She was just about to reveal the truth—that they were no longer married and that she intended to sever all ties—when the evening took an entirely unforeseen turn.

From across the room, Baron’s eyes locked onto me. Without a hint of anger or confusion, he hurried over, his demeanor radiating enthusiasm as if I were the star attraction of the night. Grasping my hand with genuine excitement, he asked, “Where have you been, Master Sebastian? Or perhaps I’ve grown too old to notice you in the crowd!”

I returned a subtle smile, trying to keep my composure. “I was going over some proposals that several participants wanted me to review. But now that I’m here, isn’t that what matters?”

Baron’s chest swelled with pride as he pounded it lightly. “Whose proposals? Tell me! Your word is law around here. Just name the person, and I’ll invest without hesitation! I know only the best—golden geese, if you will—could ever earn your approval!”

He shook my hand reverently, drawing the attention of everyone nearby.

I shook my head solemnly. “Forget it. Those proposals belong in the trash,” I said, tapping the back of his hand in a reassuring yet firm gesture.

“Oh,” Baron said, quickly changing the subject. “Ladies and gentlemen, honored guests and potential partners! Allow me to introduce the prodigy I’ve been talking about—my mentor in business, the brilliant Sebastian Grimwald!”

He gestured toward me with pride. “Just moments before this event started, Mr. Grimwald saved my company from a scam that could have cost me billions. Without his sharp judgment, the losses would have far exceeded the amount each of you hopes to invest with me tonight!”

Turning to me with admiration shining in his eyes, he continued, “That’s why I’ve decided that my mentor will be the sole judge of every proposal today. Any proposal that impresses him will receive my investment—without limit!”

“All these powerful women here probably never imagined someone like him would just appear out of nowhere. Husband material, right here! I wonder if he’s taken… Whoever married him must be blessed by God himself!”

The women in the crowd swooned, their eyes sparkling as they whispered among themselves, “Even his name sounds hot!”

“He has the face of an angel and the body of the devil! My heart can’t take it!”

“I don’t even care if he’s a business genius. For me, he’s the real headline of the night!”

As their voices filled the room, I felt the weight of their gazes, a mixture of admiration and envy swirling in the air. The atmosphere was electric, charged with anticipation and fascination, as if I had suddenly become the unexpected centerpiece of the evening’s grand spectacle.
