I Made $900 Trillion In 24 Hours novel Chapter 20

Laura stood outside the entrance to the White mansion where she was expecting King's arrival.

“Are you sure this is going to work?” Jonathan asked, standing next to Laura. “What if this man turns out to be a disappointment?”

Laura turned to face her father, a frown drawn on her expression. “Do you have any better ideas?”

Jonathan sighed, but couldn't give her a satisfactory answer.

All his friends and associates had deserted him when they learned about the Raven enterprise crisis.

Nobody in their right mind will risk paying such an outrageous debt of $260 million without a massive interest rate.

The Raven family couldn't afford to get into new debts. King was their only solution.

Just then, a jet-black Mercedes-Maybach S-Class ‘Haute Couture pulled up outside the front of the White mansion.

There were only 150 units of this car in the world and only three owners in North Hills.

Laura held her breath as the chauffeur stepped out and opened the rear door, revealing the luxurious interior of the car.

But it was the man inside that caught her attention.

King.

He possesses striking snow-white hair that was neatly styled in a mullet semi-leaf cut.

His jawlines was chiseled like a renaissance marble statue, added with high cheekbones that gave him an overall handsome face.

But it was his dress that commanded attention.

King donned in a long, beige-coloured overcoat that extended below his knees.

The coat has large buttons down the front, giving him a casual and refined presence.

Underneath his coat, he wore a black turtleneck shirt which fit his slim build like a glove.

His pants were also black and tailored to perfection

Dangling from his ears were beautiful jade earrings which gave him an exquisite charisma of a famous pop star.

Laura was spell bounded by his presence. He exuded the aura of a monarch.

The servants waiting behind Laura inclined their back 90 degrees in respect as King stood in front of them.

“Good evening, King,” Jonathan Raven stepped forward, greeting with his hands stretched. “It is an honour to meet you in person. Welcome to our family home, the White mansion.”

Nineteen hours ago, Barry had hired a prosthetic artist to create a lifelike mask of King, the character he made up.

The artist created the mask of a middle-aged, handsome man, which transformed Barry's entire facial features into a whole new identity.

All Barry had to do was wear a white wig and his new disguise was complete.

The servants served various dishes displayed on the long dinner table, prepared by the Raven family's head chef.

Barry sat at the head of the table, flanked by two beefy men in dark suits.

He regarded the Raven family as they were all eating together at the large family table.

It amazes Barry how this new disguise worked better than he imagined. None of the Raven family could recognize him.

Now he could maneuver freely within the Raven family, portraying this new character he made up.

Barry clenched his jaw. “Just how much do you hate Barry?”

“Oh I hate him all right,” Laura replied, her voice hard. “He's the worst. His sister, Snow, wouldn't admit it, but she's in an incest relationship with Barry. Kick them out. They'll bring nothing but shame to your house.”

“That's true,” Ingrid added. “If it's servants and gardeners you want, I know where you can get them at a fair price. Fire Barry and kick him out. He's not worth it.”

Barry clenched his fist on the table, controlling himself from anger.

“I'll keep him around for now,” Barry said coolly, sipping from his champagne glass. “I won't fire him.”

Laura stiffened. “B-But why?” She stuttered, standing to her feet. “Barry deserves nothing. He's evil and rotten to the core.”

“I'll give him a benefit of the doubt,” Barry responded, staring sternly at Laura. “Until I find him unfit to serve me, Barry would remain my servant.”

Silence fell in the dining room as everyone exchanged glances.

Laura quickly switched to a more charming smile as she felt she might have provoked her guest further with her desperation to get rid of Barry.

“Forget I said that,” Laura sat back in her chair, looking meek. “Let's change the subject about Barry.”

Barry turned to face Jonathan, who now looked pale and anxious.

“Mr. Jonathan Raven,” Barry said, his voice commanding. “I heard about the financial crises Raven enterprises are suffering. I want to clear all your debts.”

The Raven family all stiffened in shock.

Jonathan and Francis jumped to their feet, their eyes, and jaws dropping.

“What did you just say?” Jonathan asked in disbelief.
