“Cassian, how dare you treat me like this?!” Ffion shrieked, her eyes burning with a murderous rage.

Her gaze then fell on Lyric, who was standing nearby. She looked just like the woman in the photos, the one laughing and talking with Cassian.

“Cassian!” Ffion’s voice dripped with venom. “You’ve been cheating on me behind my back? You’re worse than an animal!”

Before Cassian could react, Ffion lunged at Lyric and slapped her across the face. “You bitch! How dare you steal my man? You must have a death wish!”

Ffion then snatched the small puppy from Lyric’s arms and, with a vicious heave, hurled it over the stairwell railing.

A sickening thud echoed from below, followed by the puppy’s agonizing yelps.

Lyric froze, completely stunned. She had no idea what she had done to provoke this woman’s unhinged attack. She just stood there, her mind a complete blank.

Niamh and Cassian were equally horrified. They couldn’t believe Ffion would be cruel enough to harm a defenseless animal.

Only Jareth remained clear-headed. He had already retreated inside and was on his phone, giving quiet orders. Anyone who dared to hurt Niamh, the quadruplets, or her adoptive father would pay.
