I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra) novel Chapter 118

My blood ran cold as I read the words on the page, my heart pounding in my chest.

It read:

[I made braised ribs today, my absolute favorite, but he’s not here. I miss him so much. I miss the days when he was by my side, when we could eat together. If I could, I would kiss him, he…]

The rest was torn off.

I had written this. As a lonely housewife, with Steven forbidding me from visiting his office, I had started keeping a diary to document my love for him, my life in the Lancaster family. This entry must have been from a time when he was on a business trip and I was missing him.

But I was sure I had taken all my diaries with me. How could a single page have been left behind?

It was so crumpled and left in such an obvious place. Steven must have seen it. He knew about the intense feelings I once had for him, my fantasies about him.

I bit my lip, clutching the paper, a storm of emotions raging inside me.

Suddenly, the bathroom door clicked open. I instinctively spun around to face Steven, hiding the paper behind my back.

His hair was damp, water droplets clinging to his handsome face. He looked at me, his dark eyes backlit by the sun, making him look devastatingly attractive.

His eyes narrowed. “What are you doing?”

I shook my head, my voice casual. “Nothing. Are you ready?”

“Yes.”

I realized he must have been living in my room for some time; he had even moved his toiletries in.

I tilted my chin up, meeting his gaze without flinching. “So what if I did? People have desires. Unlike you, who lives like a monk. Just because you don’t want to kiss women doesn’t mean I can’t want to kiss men.”

His dark eyes narrowed, the shadows on his face deepening.

Then, he smiled. “Zephyra, you’re just as shameless as you look.”

His cool fingers tilted my chin up, forcing me to look at him. His voice was a low, seductive drawl, laced with a barely concealed anger.

“Which man do you want to kiss? Tell me.”
