I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra) novel Chapter 154

Julian looked utterly bewildered. “Who are you?”

My face instantly hardened as I stormed into the room.

“Who let you in here?”

Mary saw me and frowned. “Weren’t you abroad taking care of Steven? Did he come back…?”

Her expression shifted from annoyance to pure rage when she saw Horace standing behind me.

“Well, well! One old lover isn’t enough for you? You had to find a younger one, too? How many times have you cheated on Steven?!”

“No wonder Steven won’t touch you. He’s always been a clean freak. A woman like you, who knows what kind of diseases you carry. He’s right to stay away. I’m glad I didn’t give up. I had to check every single department in this hospital to find him. If I hadn’t, I would have missed this little rendezvous!”

“You little tramp! How did my son end up marrying a promiscuous woman like you? What a disgrace!”

Julian saw me and instantly understood. The situation was so shocking, he didn’t know what to be angry about first. He began to gasp for breath.

“Zephyra, this sharp-tongued shrew is your mother-in-law? And he’s disgusted by *you*?!”

Horace’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in them.

I ignored him and rushed to Julian’s side. “It’s okay, Uncle Julian, don’t get worked up. I’ll handle this.”

Uncle Julian’s heart was weak; it had been less than two weeks since his surgery. I couldn’t let Mary agitate him.

Mary’s face was turning purple with rage.

I pressed on relentlessly. “You storm in here, making baseless accusations. I have to wonder, why are you and your son both so paranoid? Did your husband cheat on you constantly when you were younger? Did it twist your mind so badly that you passed on your paranoid genes to your children, making them just as obsessed with being cheated on?”

Mary struggled to breathe, her eyes bulging in disbelief.

“How dare you! I am your elder! Is this any way to speak to an elder?”

“An elder?” My eyes were like ice, my face a mask of cold contempt. “Someone like Uncle Julian, who protects me and cares for me, he is an elder. You? You’re just an old crone who should have died years ago.”
