Angel Tiras’s POV
The trumpet was our only hope, but Ronen has blown it several times and nothing in the air seems to change.
“Anything else you’re not telling us?” I question a bloodied Thumas who is on his knees at my feet.
He was turned into a golden wolf, but our mate’s affection had already made our senses and strengths stronger. Golden wolves are not invisible to us. We already killed all those that attacked us. We lost both our mate and our brother however. We could march to Lysandra’s cave if we didn’t just learn that she freed the dark angel using Ira’s blood and also brought King Osmund back to life.
We may have killed their golden wolves but they are still stronger than ever before. Not to mention that they have people we deeply care about.
“I swear I have no… idea how the trumpet works, your majesties,” Thumas stutters.
He has lied a thousand times already. There is only one way of ensuring he is truthful. I set his legs on fire. He rolls all over the ground, screaming.
“Tell the truth!” I snap.
“I don’t…. know! Please stop!”
I let the fire go on a little longer just to make sure we would have told the truth if he knew it. He will take a long while to heal despite being a werewolf. Not that we need him anymore. So I draw my silver blade to put an end to the traitor just as Ronen blows the trumpet once more.
A bright white light appears before us. It grows brighter and I start expecting it’s centre to part to reveal a portal. But the light itself transforms into a figure; tall, golden eyes, sleek white hair and white robes. We are all identical twins but Adon bears the most resemblance to our true father. His every grace is paved with grace.
Adon is prideful but quite warm towards those he cares about. So one would expect a hug from our real father. It doesn’t come. “Where is your brother?” it’s all he asks. Not how have you been.
“Your evil brother, Luminis, has him and our mate held captive in a witch’s cave. We do not have much time,” Ronen answers. “None of it would have happened if you had used your years wisely, learning important knowledge instead of amassing too much wealth and looking for foolish pleasures with royal women,” our father says in a tone filled with disappointment.
Who would think that a parent would be disappointed in us. We have been literally the sons that parents wish for. But of course we have nothing amazing in the eyes of our powerful father.
He is right about our mistakes though. We chose to live comfortably in our magnificent palace rather than seek important truths. Like how we came to be. If we had done so Lysandra and Luminis would not have had ample time to gather allies and grow do powerful.
“You’re right, we got too comfortable. It is that mess we are trying to fix,” I say.
