I Welcome Your Rejection: Angel Kings’ Proud Mate novel Chapter 81

Ira’s POV

“That must be the white angel! They are here already!” Lior exclaims in fear. The queen seems to have frozen in one place.

“Told you you would be getting what you deserve too soon,” father teases.

“Shut up!” Lior snaps, looking terrified. “I will take your daughter far away from danger. Who knows what happens when two most powerful angels fight inside a house,” he adds, hurrying to pick me up from the bed. “I suggest you come with us,” he says to my father.

“Leave my daughter you fool! If it isn’t the white angel your master will rip out your heart and eat it!” father replies.

Lior glares at him. “You’re a coward! You should be helping me get your daughter out of this palace before it collapses. The white angel and his sons will enslave you two for your blood just like Lysandra did. I do not need your permission to save It’s anyway.”

He runs out with me in his arms. We will probably fall soon because of the speed. My father follows, shouting at Lior to wait, but the traitorous assistant keeps going.

Angel Ronen’s POV

Adon doesn’t look up at us even after we burst into the room. I have never seen him so weak. They must have drained both his powers and strength. Luminis will pay for it soon though. At least our brother is alive. Now it’s just Ira and her father we need to rescue. Luminis wouldn’t kill those two now, unless the other choice he has is death.

Our father removes all of the spells draining Adon’s powers with just a gesture of his hand. Adon finally opens his eyes and sighs in relief. He doesn’t have the strength to get up though.

“What took you so long?” he complains. “I could have already killed Luminis if only I had someone to protect Ira and her father.”

Sounds like the dark angel isn’t even as powerful as he is rumoured to be. We could have beaten him even without our father’s help. Everything is much easier this way though. Question is, do we leave Adon here to go save our mate and her father? He literally cannot rise or walk by himself.

Father walks forward and takes his hand. “My brother is a power-hungry coward. I shouldn’t have let him get free. I wouldn’t mind if you killed him,” he says.

A strange golden light passes from our fathers hand and disappears into Adon’s. Our brother appears to regain his strength as he rises and stretches.

“You’re the white angel?”

“I am your father, yes.’

“I bet you’re not very proud of us,” Adon says.

“You have all changed a lot lately. I was disappointed in the past. You have however proved that you can completely change in a day. I am proud of what you have become,” he replies.

Finally something pleasant just came out of his mouth. In hate that it’s true that we had no intention or goal of becoming better people before we started regretting rejecting Ira.

“Let’s go get your mate before Luminis drinks her blood,” father leads the way out.

It appears like the palace guards ran off as there is no one in sight as we walk down a hallway. I am feeling relieved until Luminis and King Ademon appear ahead of us, with our stepfather, Osmund, on his knees in front of the dark angel who holds a silver blade.

Our stepfather looks pale and quite lost, like someone revived but the mind is still stuck in the world of the dead. He is like a small child. He doesn’t even seem to notice the situation he is in. So he isn’t himself anyway.

“Surrender to me or I will cut off this dead man’s head off!” Luminis threatens.

“Please tell me that is not all you have got,” King Ademon asks.

He sounds smarter than his daughter. Stealing our fortune must have been his idea.

“Shut up you pathetic werewolf! Your men already left you,” Luminis hisses at Ademon.

The smart king turns and runs away. He doesn’t deserve to live after everything he has done. We never got a chance to execute his pretentious daughter and send her head to him. That would be a perfect revenge. It’s however too late for that. So I send a lightening bolt right through his chest. It leaves a huge hole, having burned out the heart. The king collapses to the floor.

“If you care about this man I suggest you turn away and leave this palace. Leave me to rule the world of humans and werewolves. I can do better than your lazy sons,” Luminis demands, glaring at our father.

“He wouldn’t be threatening us with killing our dead father if he still had Ira or her father somewhere in the palace,” Tiras points in a low voice.

“They must have escaped in some way,” I agree.

It doesn’t seem like he had time to drink Ira’s blood and become stronger either. So he is no match for us.
