I Welcome Your Rejection: Angel Kings’ Proud Mate novel Chapter 77

Ira’s POV

The dark angel retreats his hideous hand of death, but I feel my strength leaving my body like water flowing out of a pot.

Adon lunges forward, a silver blade that he didn’t have before now in hand. The dark angel’s handof death shoots out towards him. I gasp in horror as I no longer have the strength to stand on the way.

But it appears that all our eyes were fooled as Luminis’s hand of death fail to grasp the approaching angel. It’s was all an illusion and even the dark angel fell for it. But where is Adon? His illusion is gone, and so is he. He can make himself invisible now?

“They were never so powerful.,” Lior says in a surprised tone.

“It must be the Levitt’s affection. Such good powers should not have been wasted on my brother’s idiotic offspri-” Luminis gets cut short by a chain wrapping tightly around his neck. Adon appears behind the dark angel, pulling the chains. Luminis struggles to get free despite his strength. Lior rushes to help.his master even as I fall from lack of strength. Only my father rushes to my side, putting a hand between the side of my head and a rock that would have otherwise knocked me out.

Adon hits Lior with an illusion of excruciating pain, causes the lousy assistant to cry out and fall, clutching the arm of his his left hand.

Adon drags the dark angel backwards as he pulls on the chain. Luminis looks infuriated and embarassed even as he finally gets hold of the chain and breaks it from his neck. He gazes around in search of his opponent but Adon has once again disappeared.

I am finding it hard to breathe from losing strength.

“Whose blood will you take after you kill her?” my father screams at Luminis who is focused on searching for Adon.

Still I feel my strength stop draining away into the ground. But I do not regain what I have already lost. I still cannot move an inch.

Adon appears once again with a silver blade a few steps from the dark angel who grins until more figures of Adon appear all around, confusing him. It’s impossible to know which one is real.

All the figures charge. Luminis spins anxiously around in defensive mood. All the figures seem to attack, but only one actually lands a deadly strike on Luminis’s neck, leaving a deep, bleeding wound.

The unexpected happens though and Adon shows himself. Of course it might still be an illusion as he stands outside the circle.

“Step inside the circle! I am getting impatient,” Luminis demands.

“No! Don’t… do it. He will kill you,” I shout at Adon.

After what he has done, Luminis is too furious to spare his life. He has humiliated the dark angel despite not having his father’s help. Luminis will not resist killing him when he is powerless to restore his damaged ego.

“I am sorry dear. You have two more mates, but only one father. I will not let your efforts to get here go to waste,” Adon replies to me before stepping into the dark angel’s circle.
