Ira’s Pov
“That f*cking idiot! I will turn his brain into a potato,” Adon suddenly speaks and stands up straight like he has regained his strength. I too am feeling stronger.
“Lysandra’s spells are falling apart after her death. We only have to avoid meeting the dark angel now,” my father says.
That’s easier said than done.
“I grant you the power to command all the golden wolves that the witch created with the powers I gave her. You shall be my assistant now. We will conquer lands and rule them,” the dark angel responds to Lior.
“I wish I can kill him too. But it’s safer to escape and regroup first,” I say.
“Lysandra had one of the angel kings locked up in here. He is weak. I will bring him to you,” Lior informs in an excited voice.
So this is the man he was all along? He didn’t just hate my mates which I also did, he was envious of them. Especially their
powers.
“My brother never thought I would get free. He will regret his actions once I send him the dead heart of one of his offsprings. Lead the way,” the dark angel’s voice snarls.
“We must hurry and leave. I know a way that the coven rarely use. Come with me,” my father directs.
We follow him. He leads us towards a thick curtain hanging on the right wall. I never thought it’s a covering for a doorway until he draws it and we see another pathway, dark and dusty. Unlike the rest of the cave it is not paved with concrete or mats.
We hurry past the curtain and rush down the long hole that hopefully leads outside. Adon hold both of our hands as the hole grows darker with distance and our human eyes become useless.
After running for several metres the angel finally stops. There is little light right in front of us. Like sunlight sneaking through tiny spaces of a door.
“We are almost out. I just need to break this heavy door,” Adon says before letting go of our hands. He steps forward and I hear clicking of chains.
But we are unlucky as a bright torch appears behind us, illuminating the dusty place that we stand and the heavy iron door standing between us and the outside world. Adobe has broken two of the five chains that lock it.
“Shut up or I will do away with your foolish head too,” Luminous warns.
He takes a step towards me and Adon boldly strides closer to stand in front me.
“Your hideous fingers will not touch her skin. Unlike my father the only place I will lock you up in is a coffin,” the angel hisses, sounding fearless.
I am sure our mate bond has made him stronger, but definitely not enough to win a fight against the dark angel. Is there a way this crisis can be resolved amicably?
I understand that there are cravings that cannot be sated with discussions, such is the desire for power and revenge. Just like Lysandra was envious of her sister, Luminis must have had the same hatred towards his more powerful brother. He believes this is his golden chance to hurt his brother. I doubt he will listen to reason.
“I was going to make you my pathetic slave for people of all kingdoms to see, but you have insulted my mercy. Now I will sow death in your blood.”
The dark angel raises his hand and his fingers strangely starts to lengthen. The skin of his hand turns dark and the lengthening fingers bony. I jump in front of my beautiful mate before the hand of death reaches him.
