Ira’s POV
The door to our cell opens again after several hours. Did Lysandra change her mind about giving me a day to think? Since they will be taking my blood anyway I plan to demand that she let my mates live in exchange of me becoming her servant. I am sure it will be a lot easier than living in this cell alone with a broken heart and my blood getting drained by force.
“Remember, do not accept to be her servant. You will turn yourself into her slave for eternity,” Adon reminds in a low tone. The spells in here have not only drained off his powers but most of his strength as well. He rests his head on my chest as I hold him close. “There is still hope that my brothers found the trumpet,” he adds in a weak voice.
What if they didn’t? What if they couldn’t get back close to the pit or they were captured after a long fight?
“They will kill you if I refuse. I cannot lose you now,” I reply.
“I would rather die than watch helplessly as you serve Lysandra and her coven,” the angel argues despite his weakened physical state.
I will still choose to keep them alive. Who knows if Lysandra will kill my father too if I refuse to be her willing servant. The person who steps into the room isn’t Lysandra though. It’s Lior, with a bow of fruits and a jug of juice.
So he isn’t on our enemy’s side? I amm quite relieved.
“I figured out that you would all be hungry. Only a few coven members remain in the cave so I have a chance to help you,” he whispers, setting the fruits on top of the bed beside my father.
“What do you mean by save us?” I curiously ask.
“I came to save you, my dearest love. The reason I wanted Linda to live before was because I knew I could use her death to fool the witch incase they captured you. I will get you and your father our of here as soon as I find a clear way out,” the handsome knight answers.
Why isn’t he speaking of the angel in my arms? Did he turn against them again? Why? Because King Adon is weak now? He is trapped in here because he dived into the pit to save me after Linda pushed me in.
“How will you get us out with all the spells in the cave?” I question.
We move towards the door and I push it open with my leg. The next room is empty, mostly because it’s occupants left to investigate the cause of the noise or to welcome their queen.
We move towards the next door, but halt after hearing voices on the other side.
“Your foolish queen is dead! Together with her fake Levitt. Kneel and worship me or your souls will join her’s in death!” a thick, menacing male voice roars. We hear gasps of shock as the remaining coven reacts.
I too am extremely shocked. That must be Luminis, the Angel that Lyssndra planned to fool. So I assume that something really went wrong. They set him free and he killed them.
“Make me more powerful than the angel kings and I swear that I will serve you with unmatched loyalty. I will hunt and kill them at your altar,” my mouth falls open as I hear Lior’s voice say.
