Blythe’s P.O.V.
“You sure this is all a good idea?” Bonnie grumbled quietly so only I could hear her.
“I don’t think I care if it is right now,” I replied cheerfully.
“My own brother has barely noticed me since I’ve been here because of you, and you’re still doing this to them?” She asked.
I sighed, struggling to keep the cheerful smile on my face.
“I’m not doing anything to them, and I’m sorry Bonnie,” I said quietly as we continued to put together the decorations for tonight. All the ol‘ ladies who were available are here in the family room helping out. Nova and Diesel just got back a little while ago, and baby Banks is being doted on. Pretty much only Bonnie and I are still working.
“I shouldn’t even blame you,” Bonnie mumbled. “My brother’s an id.iot. Always has been.
Thinks too much like Da.”
“You haven’t talked to either of them yet, have you?” I asked, eyeing her.
Bonnie didn’t meet my eyes or answer me. Which gave me my answer. Since Bonnie’s been back, we’ve bonded a lot. I came clean to her about everything with Everly and Alex and asked her about her experiences. She said that she’d told Isla at one point, but it was too late to really do anything about it. Which is why Isla flew to Bonnie so much over the years. However, Bonnie has developed a bit of resentment towards her father and brother.
Understandably so. I mean, the club was supposed to be about family. Everly and Alex got away with way too much. I think Bonnie’s upset that Blaze didn’t fight for her to be around more. I think she’s upset that Karma never questioned her about staying away. It was like they all just let her be without a care in the world. She felt forgotten. That was something I could relate to.
I told her to talk to them. To sit her dad and brother down and lay it out. She’d feel better and they’d realize their mistakes. Bonnie wanted to… I think she’s just a bit afraid. It doesn’t help that Karma’s been pretty freaking absent.
The only time I see Karma is during meals. He and CG just stare at me, but I ignore them. Because we’re fighting right now. All of us. It’s even causing a rift between the four of them. And I don’t fu.cking care. I’m not backing down. I will be getting Havoc out of that fu.cking basement. I’ll punish him. Hell, he’s probably punishing himself more than anyone ever could right now.
It’s not like I don’t think Havoc should be punished. His secret affected us all. I know that I don’t know everything, but… Havoc is still human. He made some mistakes, but he knows that now. I think that I could work on forgiving him, so why can’t they?
“Don’t be pi.ssy with me when you haven’t spoken with them either,” Bonnie said, dragging me out of my thoughts.
“I’m not speaking to them until they give me what I want,” I replied. “You need to talk to them. You deserve honesty and closure.”
Bonnie rolled her eyes.
“Maybe sometime at the patch–in this weekend,” she muttered.
“I don’t want to rush you,” I said. “I mean, I want to, but I won’t. Do it when it feels right, just… ya know… do it eventually.”
“It’s hard,” she mumbled, sighing. “What if-”
“Nope, none of that,” I cut her off. “We’ve been through this, BonBon.”
Again, she rolled her eyes.
“Okay, but not that nickname,” she groaned, making me giggle.
“Now there’s a sound I love to hear.”
The smile immediately dropped from my face. My spine straightened. The atmosphere in the room changed so drastically that everyone felt it. Bonnie’s eyes flickered from my face to behind me. I pretended that no one was there. Even when I felt his heat at my back.
“Oh, Dev’s gonna love that you got this picture of him,” Psy.cho said as he peered over me. “Oh, and Johnny. Poor boys are gonna be thoroughly embarrassed because of you. I love it.”
Again, I ignored him. Which got awkward. Especially the longer he stayed there.
“Come on, Sweetness… stop torturing me,” he whispered to me.
“Get the hell away from me,” I spat, finally speaking to him. I turned my head to look into his eyes. I knew I looked angry. I could tell from the excitement on Ps.ycho’s stupidly handsome face.
“You’re my ol‘ lady, remember that,” he said.
I scoffed.
“I don’t even have a cut,” I replied.
“You’ll get one, Shortcake,” he said. “Don’t you worry about that.”
“Will it have Havoc’s name on it as well?” I asked, and the tension in the room grew.
“I don’t know about that, Bly,” Psy.cho said softly. “It won’t be up to me.”
It won’t be up to me either, apparently.
That just makes me so angry. They all almost killed me when I first got here. They let Nikki sneak into the compound while she was banned. They let Everly and Alex get away with everything they’d done, with only a slap on the wrist. Havoc might lose his life, his brothers, the club. All because he made some dumb mistakes when he was young? How is that fair?
“You don’t know how things were here because of him, Shorty,” Ps.ycho whispered to me. “Please try to remember that Havoc didn’t just hurt you.”
I whirled around to face him, my anger growing.
“That’s such sh.it, and you know it!” I yelled at him, causing the room to go silent.
“Blythe.”
I looked past Psy.cho to see Karma standing in the doorway. He was glaring at me. He said my name like a warning. Unfortunately for him, I just don’t fu.cking care.
“What? Mad that I’m telling you the truth?” I snapped.
“You don’t know everythin‘,” Karma stated.
“Again, such fu.cking sh.it!” I yelled. “You want to know what I do know? I know that Havoc sent me back to hell. I know that he didn’t mean to. I know that he’s regretted it every day since. I know that I spent a long time hating all of you. So much so, that you all almost let me die when you dragged me back here! I also know that Everly and Alex are still out there safe and sound with barely any punishment after everything they did. How were their secrets and lies that different from Havoc’s? Because they didn’t hurt your feelings too?”
“Blythe-”
“I’m not done,” I cut Ps.ycho off.
“Yes you are,” Karma demanded as he stomped into the room.
“No I’m not!” I shouted, stomping my foot. “You’re just being big babies because your friend hurt your feelings. I get loyalty to the club. I get that he has to be punished, but you guys are not being fair.”
“I’m the president here, not you!” Karma yelled, pointing a finger in my face.
“Karma,” Psy.cho said sharply.
I narrowed my eyes at Karma not backing down.
“I don’t give a flying fu.ck who you are around here,” I said dangerously. “Wearing a president patch doesn’t earn you respect from me.”
“Blythe…” Bonnie mumbled, sounding nervous as she stood next to me.
“You’re walkin‘ a thin line Spark,” Karma stated angrily.
“I’ll walk my a.ss right out of here if I have to Karma,” I replied.
Karma’s green eyes flared with anger. If I wasn’t so angry myself right now, I’d be terrified. No one, not even an ol‘ lady, should ever talk to a brother like this. Especially not the president of the club, and especially not in front of everyone. I just couldn’t help it. I’m angry with all of them.
“Yo, Karma,” CG called out right before he appeared in the doorway. He took in the scene and the awkward tension in the air. His eyes settled on me, but I was still glaring at Karma. “Uh… Luca, Leo, Tony, and Mattia are here.”
Just then, Luca and Mattia appeared behind CG. I recognized them from the night of Dragon’s fight. They also could tell things were tense right now. Karma, however, smiled as he leaned down to get in my face.
“You ain’t goin‘ nowhere, Spark,” he stated. “As a matter of fact, no one is. Now that they’re here, club’s on lockdown. No one leaves without my say–so.”
My eyes widened as Karma turned around and started walking to the exit.
“What!? You can’t do that?!” I yelled, trying to go after him. Ps.ycho stepped in my way, holding me back. I watched Karma walk out without another glance at me. The visitors awkwardly followed him. CG waited a moment before going too.
“Way to go Bly, you got us all on lockdown,” Bonnie grumbled as she plopped down in her chair.
“This wasn’t because of you,” Psy.cho told me.
“I know that!” I snapped. “Bonnie just has… a strange sense of humor.”
Baby-
“Don’t” I cut him off, trying to push myself out of his arms. He wasn’t having it though. He just held me tighter, his hot breath fanning my neck.
God, how long has it been without one of them again?
“Please be patient, Psycho whispered in my ear. “I’m trying to talk to him.”
“I guess I don’t have much of a choice, do I?” I spat. “From one prison to another.”
“Don’t say that,” he said in a strained voice. “Don’t compare us to them.”
“Then let me at least see Havoc,” I retorted.
“Bly… Psycho groaned.
This time when I pushed him, he let me go. I spun around, refusing to look at him and sat back down on my chair. Psy.cho sighed behind me, sounding exasperated.
“You can go now,” I said.
*Shortcake…
“We’re done here,” I told him. “Just leave me alone.”
God, I really hate this…
