Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 455

Flavian’s POV

My life with Manu would be perfect if it were not for Sabrina's ghost haunting my thoughts. I was afraid that Sabrina might approach Manu at any moment. Manu loved me, but I did not know if she could handle discovering that I had been married and that somehow I was still married.

I spoke with the lawyer and the detective this week, but they said it would still take a few days to have any news for me. I was very nervous and anxious, too worried and feeling cornered. And it only got worse after my office door opened.

"What are you doing here?" I asked furiously.

"It's Friday, Flavian. I came to check if you've gotten rid of your little Lolita yet." Sabrina looked at me with utter cynicism and ran her hand over the chair before sitting down, as if checking if it were clean. "What a horrible little place this police station is, huh?!"

"Get out, Sabrina! Stop bothering me!"

"Oh, dear husband, don't talk to me like that. If I get stressed, I might end up making a scene, one of those really dramatic ones." I knew well how dramatic Sabrina could be, and I had no desire to put up with it.

"Sabrina, what do you want? Because you obviously know you're not going to live with me. So why waste your time?"

"Flavian, you're my husband and I want my rights as a wife. Living with you is one of them."

"That's not going to happen. Be reasonable; you know it's only a matter of time until I get rid of you, and this time it will be permanent."

"What are you plotting, Flavian?" Sabrina knew me well enough to know I was already working on resolving everything.

"I'm not plotting anything. You're the one who plots, manipulates, lies, and forges documents. Let me tell you, Sabrina, when everything falls apart, my dear father won't protect you; he'll keep his distance from the problem." And that's what would happen. I was sure the investigation into document fraud wouldn't reach my father, but Sabrina wouldn't escape.

"What are you doing, Flavian?" Sabrina looked at me suspiciously, and I just smiled.

"I think you should consult your father." I smiled as if I had control of everything.

"Look here, Flavian, don't bluff with me, I know you. Let's be practical and objective. When are you going to send your little Lolita back to the playground?"

"Sabrina, I've warned you, if you get near her, I'll go after your father with everything I've got. Just imagine how sad it would be for him to spend the rest of his life in jail because of you."

"Leave my father out of this, Flavian." Sabrina became tense.

"I will, if you leave Manu out of this. Let's do this, let's call a truce. Give me some time. Go to Bellwood to visit your parents, talk with them for a while. Meanwhile, I'll do the same, I'll talk to my father and reach an agreement, and then we'll resolve this situation. What do you think?" I needed to buy time for the investigation to progress.

"You're not going to play me, Flavian."

"Sabrina, you're not that stupid. You know that staying here making my life hell will only make things worse and make it harder for you to get what you want. Show me some goodwill and give me time. I'll talk to my father, and then we'll resolve this, whether we stay married or not. Come on Sabrina, I'm being reasonable." Anyone seeing my calmness would believe this nonsense, but I just wanted time to get rid of her and keep her away from Manu.

"How much time are you talking about, Flavian?"

"How about a month?"

"That's too long, Flavian."

"Don't make a scene at my workplace." I warned her through gritted teeth. "The deal is that I take you to the airport, and I will do that, but my friend is coming with us."

"Are you afraid to be alone with me, Flavian?" She laughed provocatively.

"Think what you want." I opened the back door of the patrol car and pushed her inside.

"What's this, Flavian? I'm not going in a patrol car. Flavian?" She tried to open the door unsuccessfully. Bonfim laughed and got into the passenger seat.

"Miss, don't waste your energy. The back doors of the patrol car don't open from the inside," Bonfim said with satisfaction. "And you'd better not provoke Detective Moreno, he's not a patient person. If you start talking too much, he'll put you in the pen."

"What pen? Are you crazy, sir?" Sabrina was irritated.

"The pen, ma'am, is the prisoner cage in the back. Let me tell you, it's not comfortable and it smells horrible too." Bonfim was enjoying the situation. Sabrina looked at him in horror.

"Listen to Bonfim, Sabrina. I have no patience for tantrums, and you know that." I warned and started the car.

And she kept talking and complaining like a chatterbox all the way to the hotel. After more than an hour of waiting in the hotel lobby, Sabrina finally appeared with four huge suitcases. I couldn't understand what all that was for. But at least she would go without complaining, or almost without complaining, as she started throwing a fit about the suitcases while I was putting them in the patrol car's cage.

"Don't ruin my suitcases, Flavian." Sabrina shouted and gestured, walking between the suitcases and the patrol car.

"Sabrina, come here." I grabbed her by the arm and made her get into the patrol car. "Now stay quiet, or you'll go in the back and your suitcases in the seat."
