Manu was sleeping so peacefully that I thought it better not to wake her. Day was already breaking when we went to bed. But I had too much on my mind and couldn't get any sleep. I walked into the kitchen and found Cam and Olivia talking in whispers.

"Look, Oli, at the dark circles under this man's eyes," Cam laughed when he saw me.

"Yeah, Cam, your sister is wearing me out," I joked, and the smile died on his lips.

"Spare me the sordid details!" Cam complained, pretending to be irritated. "At least you two weren't too noisy tonight." I couldn't help but laugh, remembering little one's effort to keep quiet.

"Where's Manu?" Olivia handed me a coffee mug.

"Sleeping. She's a bit tired." I smiled at Cam, who huffed.

"Good, because we need to talk," Olivia seemed worried.

"What is it?" I asked.

"My mother called me. Her housekeeper is friends with Calvin's housekeeper - Calvin is the father of that fiancé Rita keeps trying to push on Manu," Olivia explained, and I nodded, following her logic. "Well, the housekeeper overheard Calvin talking to a friend of his. He told this other man that he's going to marry Manu, that Rita will bring her back, and that she'll marry him. Him, not his son," Olivia emphasized.

"Son of a bitch!" I slammed the mug on the sink. I was purple with rage, and Olivia signaled me to keep my voice down. "Doesn't this woman have any common sense?"

"She's a demon, Flavian," Olivia said. "We weren't sure if we should tell Manu about this, we thought it would be better if you decided."

"This is such bullshit!" I huffed. "This woman won't give up."

"She won't," Cam took a deep breath. "The worst part is that now she has a good ally, because if Calvin is that interested in my sister, he's going to help Rita."

"We need to find a solution for this, and fast." I only saw one way to end this story of them wanting to force Manu into marriage.

"Do you have any ideas?" Olivia looked at me.

"Yes. I'm going to marry Manu," I said.

"She won't agree to marry just to avoid another marriage," Cam said calmly.

"Damn it, Cam, do you really think I want to marry your sister just for that?" I got a bit angry with him. I loved Manu, and to me, we were already united in a way much stronger than marriage.

"I know you don't, but Manu is kind of stubborn. If she finds out about everything, she won't marry you because she'll think you want to marry her just because of her mother," Cam explained, and I realized I would need to be careful about how to handle things. "And if she finds out afterward, she'll keep dwelling on it."
