Breno’s POV

I was off duty, thinking about calling Flavian to check if there was any news about the storage unit where we found the key, since he told me his sister-in-law knew where it was and would go check it out. But it was still early for a weekend, I would have to control my anxiety. That was when my cell phone rang - it was my friend, the one I had asked to keep an eye on Gisele and investigate what she had been up to, since he was a police officer in the city where she was living.

"Hey, partner," I answered the phone enthusiastically. Could he have some news for me?

"My friend, Breno. Do you think your detective friend could get me a position at his police station too?" My friend laughed.

"Depends. What do you have for me?" I perked up, certain that my friend had found something.

"The woman you asked me to investigate was just arrested," he laughed. "We just shut down her illegal abortion clinic."

"No way!" That surprised me.

"Yeah. She was posing as a doctor and performing illegal abortions. Man, you basically handed me the investigation of a lifetime. We had been after this clinic for over a year, but every time we got close, she would vanish without a trace. You know how it is - this city isn't that small, and she would always rent discreet properties directly from owners using fake documents."

"Are you serious? That crazy woman was doing this?" I asked, bewildered.

"Dead serious, Breno! I started watching her like you asked - it wasn't hard to find her new address, even though she had moved from the one you gave me. I managed to locate her pretty quickly. I followed her for a few days and saw her entering this suspicious house every day, completely closed off with no view from the street. I noticed suspicious activity there, different women going in and out. I kept watching and saw one woman who came out looking unwell - she fainted in the street and I took her to the hospital. There, I was informed she had undergone an abortion. The woman was in bad shape. At that point, there was no choice - it was a crime, I had to call the detective and explain the situation."

"I understand, that's exactly what you needed to do," I agreed.

"Yeah, the detective immediately assembled the team and we raided the place. We caught your nurse performing an abortion on another woman. It was ugly, man! Analyzing everything we found there, we were able to connect her to cases we had already been investigating. Thanks to you, we shut down the illegal clinic we'd been chasing for so long. The woman getting the abortion was taken away by ambulance, and the nurse and her assistant were arrested. They're both here and they're going away for a long time - their crimes carry heavy sentences."

"Man! I'm shocked! Do you think your detective would let me talk to her?" I needed to get information from this woman.

"That's why I'm calling. He wants to meet you and will allow anything you want, except releasing the prisoner," my friend laughed. "He's very happy to close this case."

"Well then, my friend, I'm on my way!" I said goodbye and hung up, already grabbing my car keys. I would talk to Flavian later.

It was a relatively long trip, about five hours on the road, but since it was still early, I would arrive at a good time. And it happened just as I expected - I arrived at the police station shortly after two in the afternoon.

My friend came to receive me right away and took me to the detective, who was indeed very pleased with the arrest he had made. We talked for a while and he showed me everything they had seized from the illegal clinic. It was strange - the woman was committing crimes but kept all the evidence of her wrongdoings. There were medical records, photos of patients, signed documents, everything very organized, as if it were a legitimate business.

In his excitement, the detective was showing me the files on the seized computer and telling me about everything he had already read. There were old records there, very old ones.

"But the best part is this here." The detective accessed a folder on the computer named "VIP Clients" and explained. "These are files of wealthy clients. The folder was password-protected, but an expert from Paradise Port came here and managed to crack all the passwords, giving us access to everything. These women would recommend Gisele to friends who needed her services, but those who didn't refer anyone after a while, Gisele would start blackmailing them."
