She was engulfed in a group hug, and her face was peppered with kisses as the trio worked together to slide the ring onto her finger. She accepted their kisses and whispered words of love as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Why are you crying?” Phineas rocked her in his arms as they were all huddled on the floor of the lounge.

Once we get things sorted here, we’ll be back.” He cupped her cheeks and placed a warm kiss on her forehead.

She stifled a sob at the gentle kiss and then, for the first time since she met him, she embraced him fully, throwing her arms around his waist and hugging him tight. “I’m going to miss you too Papa.”

“Nothing could keep me away,” he reached his trembling fingers to trace her cheek. “I miss you already and you are still right in front of me.”

“I miss you too.” She let him hug her for several minutes before she got up and moved to Anna. “I’m going to miss you too, Abuela.”

Anna’s eyes misted at the form of address, “I know my love. I will miss you too. We will see you soon. Let me see your ring?” She lifted Juniper’s hand and then smiled at the trio of men standing, “you chose wisely. It’s beautiful.”
