Justice For Juniper (Tatienne Richard) novel Chapter 166

Eavesdroppers Part II

Juniper watched them end the call and then a look of rage overtake her partner’s face as Phineas was reading the texts coming in from his security team.

“What’s wrong?”

“Adil is downstairs. It seems the person who brought Kyst here was his father. Carl actually drove him here.”

“No way.” Juniper pulled her head back in surprise. “After him telling me I was beneath his son, he brought him here? Why? To what end?”

“I don’t know but Adil said he put a listening device in the car when Carl got out to go argue with the security guys about roughing up Kyst. He’s on his way up. He wants us to listen together. If they are planning something, I want to know what it is.”

“But Kyst didn’t ask me for anything, really. He was going off about how he loved me, and he was cheating on me because he loved me. He gave me some song and dance about how he cheated with Denise because he wanted to be in control of his

dick.”

“Wait! What?” Phineas‘ gaze snapped to hers from wre he4:28 was reading text messages. “He said what?”

“He said being told when to fuck by the doctor made him feel he wasn’t in control of his own dick,” she waved her hand, “or something like that. I was too busy looking at him wondering what the hell I ever saw in him. The stupidity which falls out of his mouth makes my skin crawl. How did I think he was an intelligent man who could hold my attention?”

“I don’t know. Anyone who fucks Denise more than once needs to be stupid. I did it once and was incredibly drunk and under pressure to consummate a marriage by my grandfather.”

“Your grandfather’s party is this weekend?”

“It is. I asked Janice already to order your dress.”

“You asked Janice to order a dress for me?

“Yes.”

“It didn’t occur to you I’d want to pick my own dress?”

“Let me rephrase,” Phineas laughed, “I asked Janice to bring in a series of dresses, and they will be delivered Saturday morning and of the dresses she brings in, you will select one of those dresses. I have a specific vision in mind. I told her what I wanted and she’s getting it done.”

What if I wanted to pick it out?”

14:28

“Except I went shopping with you in Spain. Do you know what we learned, Beni, Adil and I?”

“What?”

“You fucking hate shopping for yourself. You can buy knickknacks, things for others and you love to shop for food and things in a fresh market, but sweetheart, you hate shopping for clothes. I couldn’t get you to look at a single piece of clothing.”

“Fine,” she flung herself into the seat opposite his desk. “I hate clothes shopping because I hate having to squeeze into things. It makes me feel fat.”

“You aren’t fat. You’ve got beautiful curves and a body which is meant to be held onto. Your dresses will arrive Saturday morning.”

“What if they don’t fit?”

“They come equipped with a tailor who will fix any issues. The perks of being stupidly rich.” He leaned in his seat and looked up as Adil came into the office.

“I told the guys to make sure not to let Kyst go with his father until I gave the go–ahead,” Adil leaned over and kissed Juniper’s cheek, “hey baby girl. Are you okay?”

14:29

“I thought she was crying when I got down there. She was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes.”

“Laughing?”

“Kyst tried to tell me that he was cheating to get the bonuses to buy me a push present.‘

“What’s a push present?”

“That’s what I said,” Phineas grumbled.

“A gift a partner gets his baby mama for pushing out a baby.”

“Oh, is that a thing? We should get Juniper a special push present when she has our baby someday.”

“An island?”

“Her own jet to get to the island?”

“Would you two stop?” she rolled her eyes at their absurd suggestions. Adil set his phone on the desk, and she frowned, “what is that?”

“The app which allows me to listen in real time and record the conversation. It’s not admissible in court but it will help us sort qut security issues if need be.”

“I was having an affair with her when I was married to your mother. I was in law school. You were a year old or a bit more.”

“You cheated on Mom?

“I was cheating on your mother in high school. It didn’t stop just because I went to college. Martina Aguado was rich. She 5/8 bought me watches and cufflinks and ties worth more than my

tuition. I was going to leave your mother for her.”

“You were going to leave Mom?” Kyst sounded horrified.

“Your mother is a whiny bitch, Kyst. She’s obedient and gives good head. That’s all I can say about her.”

“That’s my mother you are talking about.”

“Oh, stop being a pussy. I found someone who was a trade up.”

“What happened to her? This Martina one?”

“She told me she was going to convince her parents to accept me and then I never heard from her again. I found out later she died. I settled down with your mother and made the best of a bad situation.

“Well, apparently her brother is Juniper’s father and from the way Juniper was talking, she seems to think you should be worried.”

“He makes Phineas Perez look like a pauper.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.” Carl’s voice raised an octave, “you need to get her back, Kyst. She’s finally going to be able to bring something to the 718 table.”

14:29

“Fuck off Dad. She’s always brought something to the table. I’m not getting her back so you can sink your teeth into her money.”

“Fine, get her back because she loves you. With luck her father will be happy to give your old man a job.”

As Carl continued talking to Kyst about all the ways he could monetize his relationship with Juniper, she felt her skin crawl. She looked to Adil and Phineas and growled, “call my father and tell him all this shit. I want that motherfucker, Carl Kennedy, ruined.”
