Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 203

After losing her mom early on, Amelia’s dad ran off with every cent they had—and his new girlfriend. Then Mr. Sadinton started acting like a stranger, too. Now, the only person Amelia could really count on in this world was him.

If she didn’t come back, where else could she go anyway?

Timmy finally relaxed a little after hearing his dad’s words. Maybe whatever was in that box wasn’t as bad as he thought.

Clive made it to the front door, but then something clicked in his mind. He told Timmy to go wait in the car and doubled back inside.

“Donna.”

Donna had been hiding out in the kitchen all morning, too annoyed to face Kristen at breakfast. Now, she walked out, still fuming.

“Mr. Salmeron, is there something else?” Her tone was stiff, and Clive could tell she was still irritated.

He didn’t take it personally. “Find a couple of people today and get all the wedding photos back up in the living room and the bedroom.”

If Amelia needed some reassurance, he could at least give her that.

Clive could already picture Amelia’s face when she came home and saw the wedding photos. She’d probably be so touched she’d cry.

He let a confident smile slip and walked away after giving Donna her orders.

Donna just stood there, stunned for a second, before it hit her.

Was Mr. Salmeron actually trying to make things right with his wife?

Excited, she immediately grabbed her phone and called Mrs. Salmeron.

“Ma’am, I think you might get that third great-grandchild after all!”

...

In the parking garage, Amelia messaged Selfhelper, asking for advice on divorce lawyers. She set her phone to silent and tucked it away—she knew it was too early to expect a reply.

She rushed to R&D Department One. On the way, she glanced into the second department and caught sight of the guy who’d come in with Kristen last time. Even from behind, his vibe was unmistakable—it was definitely him.

Amelia just stared at her phone. Did Selfhelper honestly think she could afford even one of these lawyers? Not a chance.

Then again, for someone who could send her a four-hundred-thousand-dollar car like it was nothing, maybe this was what “affordable” looked like to them.

Still, she decided to stick to her own plan.

As she walked out, she quickly typed a reply.

Amelia: They’re all excellent, but I can’t afford them.

She was just stepping out of the elevator into the lobby when Selfhelper’s reply came through.

Just five words. They stopped her in her tracks.

Selfhelper: Get divorced. I’ll pay.
