Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 266

Ryan just smirked, not bothering to call her out on her tough act.

“I’m starving. Come eat with me.”

As he spoke, he was already turning the wheel and the car slipped smoothly into the night.

Amelia barely had time to object. All she could do was silently buckle her seatbelt.

Ryan drove fast but smooth, weaving through a tree-lined street Amelia had never seen before.

“Where are we going?” she finally asked, staring out at the unfamiliar scenery.

“You’ll find out,” Ryan said, keeping his eyes on the road.

After the avenue, the view outside started to look more and more familiar. When the car stopped, Amelia saw a bustling street up ahead and realized where they were.

It was the food street behind Baybridge University.

The one everyone called Sin Alley.

She never thought Ryan would bring her here for food. She glanced at him, half in disbelief.

Ryan was just unbuckling his seatbelt when he caught her staring.

He raised an eyebrow. “What’s that look supposed to mean?”

Amelia had always been honest, sometimes to a fault.

She shrugged. “Honestly? With your status, I figured you’d be eating at some fancy place—like in those TV dramas, you know? Private chef, special menu, the whole production.”

Ryan’s eyes narrowed, locking onto her in that intense way of his.

With a face like that, even a simple stare felt dangerous.

Amelia shrank back into her seat, feeling a little flustered.

“Amelia.” Ryan said her name slowly, his tone lazy but somehow teasing.

Even her name sounded different when he said it.

Was this really the same Ryan—the Packman family’s illegitimate son?

Amelia frowned a little, remembering how his student records had just listed him as “orphan.”

So that’s why he called himself that.

But what made the Packmans suddenly decide to acknowledge him after twenty years?

Amelia couldn’t figure out the secrets of the rich, and honestly, she didn’t want to try.

Who was she to pity Ryan, anyway?

Now, in everyone’s eyes, Ryan was a guy on the fast track to the top, looking down at the world.

“Professor, come on! You have to try this place—best late-night snacks ever!” A familiar, playful voice suddenly rang out.

Amelia glanced in the rearview mirror and spotted Dr. Borgen, surrounded by a few of her fellow grad students. Greg, the loudest of the bunch, was already dragging Dr. Borgen along by the arm.
