Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 313

“No, she’s my daughter.”

Belle almost hit the gas pedal too hard. “Wait, you have a daughter? But you’re so young!” She shot Amelia a look. Amelia always seemed so bookish and fresh out of college.

Amelia kept texting as she answered, her voice steady. “Actually, I have twins—a boy and a girl. They just turned five. I’m in the middle of a divorce right now. Should be finalized by next week.”

Belle stared, at a total loss for words. But when she saw how calm Amelia was, something clicked. As a woman herself, Belle could already guess the story.

“Your husband—well, ex-husband—he must’ve really hurt you, huh?” Belle’s tone was soft. “Good for you for leaving. Don’t waste your time on someone who doesn’t deserve you.”

Amelia just nodded, letting the sunlight warm her face through the window. She closed her eyes for a moment, soaking it in. Every day away from Clive felt brighter.

Her phone buzzed again. Another message from her daughter.

Amelia glanced down. The smile in her eyes faded.

Penny: [Brother says you and Dad are getting a divorce. Is it true?]

Amelia took a breath and replied.

[Yes, honey. Dad and I aren’t together anymore.]

She never planned to hide it. There was no point.

Belle hesitated, then asked quietly, “What about the twins? Who gets custody?”

Amelia’s voice was gentle but sure. “I’ll do everything I can to keep them with me.”

Belle looked even more surprised. It wasn’t just that Amelia knew Dr. Wade—he clearly held her in high regard.

Her curiosity about Amelia only deepened.

Following Emmery down the corridor, he pointed out a massive dome-shaped building in the distance, its surface shining with tough synthetic metal.

“That’s the center of everything—our top-level lab,” he explained. “All the most important research happens there.”

Dr. Wade’s office was on the other side, in a separate building.

They had just reached the third floor when Emmery’s phone rang again. He glanced at the screen—[Unimportant VIP].

Emmery smacked his forehead. “Oh man, I almost forgot about this guy!”
