Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 321

Kristen latched onto Amelia’s arm, hanging on tight like she always did.

Amelia recoiled in disgust. “Get off me!”

She yanked her arm free with a sharp twist, and Kristen went sprawling to the floor—another dramatic performance.

Same old move.

And, as usual, Clive took the bait.

“Kristen!” he barked, grabbing Amelia’s arm in a rough grip. “Can’t you go one day without picking on her? She’s just trying to help me, and you have to make a scene!”

Amelia shot him a glare. “Oh, please. It’s not just her. I’m sick of you, too.” She reached into her bag, pulled out a tiny pair of scissors, and jabbed them straight at Clive’s hand.

He jerked back just in time, eyes wide with shock as the scissors stabbed into the spot where his hand had been seconds before.

If he’d hesitated, she would’ve gone right through his arm.

“Are you out of your mind?!”

Amelia had no patience left for this. “If you know I’m crazy, then get out of my way. Don’t stand there like some clueless idiot.”

Clive’s anger snapped. Her words, her attitude—it finally sent him over the edge.

He lost it. “Amelia, you think you’re so special? The only reason you’re here to see Diego is because you’ve got Will cleaning up after you, or maybe you’re begging your old professors for favors. You’re always relying on some guy. What makes you think you’re better than anyone?”

Amelia actually laughed. “Me? Leaning on men? Seriously, Clive, did you forget who helped you get into the boardroom? Who got you that managing director job?”

Clive glared at her, completely unimpressed. “What, Amelia? You think you’re too good for Cloudcrest now? Found a new sugar daddy?” He let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Don’t tell me you actually believe a guy like Will is going to stick around and save you. He’s just bored. You’re nothing but yesterday’s news to him.”

Amelia’s eyes narrowed. “Just because you’re trash doesn’t mean everyone else is. My boss now is Ryan Packman. You know him, right? You’ve lost to him before, haven’t you?”

Clive’s eyes flickered for a split second, but he quickly scoffed. “Don’t flatter yourself. Last time, Ryan only helped you because of Francisco. He was just doing a favor, nothing more.”

He lifted his chin, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Go ahead, call him. Let’s see if Ryan Packman comes running to save you. Actually, never mind. That’s asking too much, isn’t it?”

He gave her a slow, mocking smile. “Let’s see if he even bothers to answer your call.”

He was just waiting for Amelia to embarrass herself.
