Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 342

Clive thought when Amelia finally called, maybe she’d realized she’d gone too far lately—maybe she wanted to make up, to drop her pride and smooth things over.

But the second she started talking, she was already throwing out insults, calling Kristen names and coming at him like he owed her an explanation.

Clive’s frown deepened. Kristen had been with him the whole night, right in front of him. What could she have possibly done? And honestly, Clive had seen for himself how good Kristen was to both kids—especially Penny, who she treated like her own. Meanwhile, Amelia’s cruel streak toward Kristen was something he couldn’t forget.

He drew in a steady breath. “I’m going to assume you’re just worried about Penny. That’s why you’re saying these things, right? Kristen cares about Penny just as much as you do. Why on earth would she hurt her?”

No matter what, Clive found himself siding with Kristen. Even with his own kids involved, he trusted her.

Amelia felt her anger bubbling over, hot and sharp, like she could explode.

Her voice cut through the phone. “Clive, if you want to be stupid, that’s on you. But if Kristen ever does anything to hurt my kids, I’ll tear her apart myself. And you—you have the nerve to call yourself their father?”

Clive felt his patience snap. Amelia just wouldn’t let Kristen go. She was obsessed with making her the enemy.

“Kristen isn’t the villain you think she is,” he said, his tone icy. “But you, Amelia, should really look at yourself. You’re acting like a bitter, hateful woman. If I’d known this was the real you, I never would have married you.”

The Amelia he remembered wasn’t like this at all.

But he still wasn’t done.

He wanted to break that idea, wanted her to realize she was nothing special—just someone he’d gotten tired of. Who else would ever marry a woman with nothing to her name?

Suddenly, Amelia laughed.

It was a soft, almost weightless sound, but it slipped through the phone and straight into Clive’s ear like a cold breeze, making him shiver for no reason.

“Clive,” she said, her voice steady and calm, “I regret everything.”

Clive’s throat went tight, but he still caught his own smug smile in the mirror.
