Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 421

Francisco blinked. “You live in the apartments across from West Medicine, right?”

He almost wanted to applaud his own acting. If Mr. Packman ever fired him, he could probably go straight to Hollywood.

“Yeah, that’s me,” Amelia replied.

“Perfect, that’s right on my way. Come on, I’ll give you a lift. You’ll never find a cab around here at this hour.”

Amelia had worked with Francisco a few times and always found him easy to get along with. They were basically friends by now.

“Alright, I won’t say no,” she said with a smile.

“Please don’t! Honestly, the first time I met you, Ms. Sadinton, I just had a feeling we’d click,” Francisco said, chatting away. As he spoke, his fingers were flying out of sight, quickly messaging Mr. Packman an update.

Francisco: Mr. Packman, Will bailed at the last minute—I'm taking Ms. Sadinton home now.

Elsewhere, on the rougher side of the city where neon lights faded into darkness, the air was thick and sour with the smell of decay.

Ryan leaned against his car, staring down at Francisco’s message on his phone.

Five meters in front of him, three battered men lay sprawled on the ground, faces bloodied and swollen. A group of men in black suits stood nearby, their presence cold and intimidating.

Nathan tossed aside a baseball bat, breathing hard. “Ryan, these punks are stubborn as hell. They still won't give up the guy who ran.”

“We’ll never sell out our boss!” one of the men on the ground yelled, blood streaming from his nose.

Ryan slipped his phone away and finally lifted his gaze, eyes dark and unreadable, violence simmering just beneath the surface.

He walked over slowly, each heavy step echoing in the tense silence, pressing on their nerves.

He stopped in front of the blond guy, his tall frame blocking out the last sliver of moonlight.

“Dying would be too easy for you,” Ryan said, unbuckling his watch and slipping it into his pocket with deliberate calm. His voice was icy enough to make bones ache.

The blond guy started shaking, looking up at Ryan’s sharp, almost wickedly handsome face. Ryan’s lips twisted into a chilling, almost devilish smile.

“I’ve got plenty of ways to make you wish you were dead,” Ryan said softly.

Across the city, Will rushed to Kristen’s apartment. As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he froze.

Red paint smeared across Kristen’s door, the words “GO TO HELL!” slashed on with rage. Knife marks were gouged deep into the wood.

Will’s jaw tightened as he started hammering the doorbell.

“Kristen! Open up, it’s me!”

Back then, he’d worn it every day, thinking she was the sweetest girl in the world.

But after he came home, everything changed. Kristen had gone out of her way to keep him from meeting Amelia, and that crossed his line.

Will set the charm gently on the table.

He looked at Kristen’s tear-streaked face. “If you ever really need something—if it’s life or death—reach out to my assistant. I’m blocking your number.”

Kristen’s hands clenched into fists. As Will turned to leave, her voice trembled with tears. “Is this because of Amelia?”

“Yes,” Will said without hesitation.

Kristen choked out a sob. “So you picked her over me…”

“No,” Will said, turning back. His voice was cool, almost detached. “I came back for her. You and Amelia were never on the same scale. I’ve only ever seen you as a little sister I owed.”

He continued, “Kristen, I’m not an idiot. All those rumors about you and Clive—I could find out the truth any time I wanted. Don’t think you’re smarter than you are. After tonight, we’re even for that rainy night when you gave me the piggy bank.”

Kristen’s nails dug into her palms as Will pulled open the door. She rushed after him, grabbing his arm with desperate strength.

“Will, please, just help me one last time…” she pleaded, knowing this was probably her last shot to use him, at least for now.
