Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 99

“Nice one,” she said, satisfied.

This would be perfect to throw in Clive’s face when they finally split.

Amelia slid her phone away and turned to Diana with a gentle smile. “Alright, don’t let them get to you. They’re not worth it.”

She grabbed Diana’s hand and led her off.

Diana spent the whole walk ranting about Clive and Kristen, going off so much that her throat went dry.

Amelia just listened quietly, nodding along at all the right moments.

When Diana finally wore herself out, Amelia spoke, “Why don’t you sit here for a bit? I’ll go grab you some water.”

The line at the concession stand was long, and Amelia didn’t want Diana getting recognized.

“Wait.” Diana pulled off her wide-brimmed hat and plopped it on Amelia’s head. “Don’t get sunburned.”

Amelia waited in line, bought two bottles of water, and turned around—almost running straight into someone.

“Sorry,” she mumbled, keeping her head down as she hurried away.

The guy she nearly bumped into froze when he heard her voice. His eyes followed her as she walked away, a ripple of shock crossing his face—like a stone dropped into still water.

That voice… It sounded so familiar. Could it really be her?

But why would she be here?

Amelia, of course, was completely oblivious.

She headed back, only to find Diana already swarmed by a mob of excited fans. It hadn’t even been a few minutes, and she’d been recognized.

Amelia ducked her head and squeezed through the crowd, grabbed Diana by the arm, and took off running.

The fans chased after them, screaming her name.

She just gave up pretending. “Yep, I’m Diana.” She pulled off the hat, tossed her hair, and looked him straight in the eye—then froze. Wow. He was actually insanely handsome.

Since when did she have fans this attractive?

Her tone softened a bit. “I’ll sign something for you, but no photos.”

Will went silent.

Not her.

He realized his mistake immediately. The hope in his eyes faded, and he let go of her arm, apologizing, “Sorry, I thought you were an old friend.”

He turned and walked away, leaving Diana standing there, totally thrown off.

What the hell? Mistaken identity? She was a total knockout, not someone you’d just forget.

Diana tossed her hair and snorted, “Men. Always coming up with new pickup lines. I’ll remember you, buddy.”
