Lady Warrior's Warth on Divorce Day novel Chapter 200

Chapter 200

Wren stepped forward, heading straight over here with cool confidence.

The folks trailing behind him looked totally out of their depth, shuffling forward after him and glancing around nervously.

“Isn’t it funny? Yesterday you were by my side for my birthday, and now today you’re out here having dinner with someone else?” Wren said as he approached their table, his gaze full of arrogance.

Harvey got up abruptly, placing himself squarely between Wren and Zoya. “Wren, who Zoya is with and what she does-it’s got nothing to do with you.”

“No right, huh?” Wren shot back, his eyes turning frosty with challenge.

“Face it, you guys are already history,” Harvey snorted, voice loaded with disdain.

Wren fixed Zoya with a direct, possessive stare, completely ignoring Harvey. “Break up? Don’t kid yourself. I never said yes to that.”

The people trailing behind Wren looked visibly uncomfortable when they heard those words.

‘Were we even supposed to be listening to this?’ they wondered, feeling completely out of place.

There had been rumors flying around that Wren was dating some woman, but all that gossip came from Marabotara’s side.

Most folks in Ranard City didn’t believe a word of it.

After all, Wren was famous for always steering clear of women.

“Doesn’t matter whether you agree or not. If Zoya says it’s over, then it’s over,” Harvey shot back, no mercy in his voice.

The atmosphere instantly grew heavy.

Some of the folks trailing behind Wren were already breaking out in a nervous sweat.

‘Wait, Mr. Richmond and Mr. Crawford, Ranard City’s notorious troublemaker, are really throwing down? And Mr. Richmond’s girlfriend is actually Mr. Crawford’s good friend? What’s going on here?’ some of them gossiped to themselves, utterly bewildered.

“So what, you want her to dump me and jump straight into your arms?” Wren scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Harvey, keep dreaming.”

Harvey froze. Honestly, he’d never breathed a word about his feelings to Zoya. He’d let chance after chance slip through his fingers, hiding these thoughts away for ages, afraid of ruining everything.

Now that Zoya and Wren had finally called it quits, Harvey had been holding out for the perfect moment to let her know his heart.

He just never saw it coming-Wren exposing his secret like this, right in front of everyone, leaving him no place to hide.

“Wren, you’re out of line!” Harvey growled, hot with rage, and swung his fist at Wren without a second thought.

Wren wasn’t the type to take a hit. He lashed out just as fast, meeting Harvey blow for blow.

Next thing anyone knew, the two of them were brawling right in the middle of the restaurant. Everyone else just froze where they were, too scared to get between them.

After all, nobody in their right mind would dare mess with either of these guys.

Just when everyone thought the restaurant was about to get wrecked, Zoya charged in, knocked Harvey’s hand away, spun on her heel so her back was to him, and seized Wren’s fist in a death grip.

“Cut it out! This isn’t the place to start throwing punches,” Zoya said, voice steady and commanding.

Wren watched as Zoya put herself between him and Harvey, jealousy flickering in his eyes. “So you’re really going to stand up for him? He started it.”

“He’s my friend. Obviously, I’m going to stand up for him,” Zoya replied. “Wren, whatever’s between us, don’t drag my friends into it.”

“Friend, huh?” Wren’s lips curled into a smirk. He leaned in, his voice low against Zoya’s ear so no one else could hear, “So that’s all he is to you? Don’t forget what I said last night.”

Wren lowered his fist and straightened up. “Since you hate it when I fight, I’ll stop. If you don’t want to see me, I’ll give you some space for now. But breaking up? That’s not happening. I won’t allow it.”

After saying this, he turned to the crew behind him and snapped, “Let’s go.”

“Y-yes!” The group scrambled after him.

Zoya stared at Wren’s back, thinking, ‘So he’s just not gonna let us break up, is he?’

Guess the whole peaceful breakup thing just went out the window.

She thought, ‘Maybe I’ll just give him the cold shoulder for a while… let things fade out on their own.

“Don’t worry. If Wren ever tries to force you into anything, I promise I won’t let him get away with it,” Harvey said, steady and protective.

“He’s not the kind to actually push me around,” Zoya replied confidently. Besides, letting people walk all over her just wasn’t her style.

Zoya looked around at the crowd and sighed, “After all this, there’s no way we can actually stay and eat. We’d better find another place.”

Even though Wren and his group had disappeared into a private room, most of the staff and guests in the main hall were still glancing over, curious and watching their every move.

“Let’s go somewhere else,” Harvey said.

Instead of the usual restaurant scene, the two of them found themselves chilling at a street-side food stall this time.

“Honestly, this kinda feels like way back at the base,” Harvey said wistfully. “Back when we’d sneak out during leave and chow down on street food together, huh?”

“Seriously, I never expected you-a total little prince who lived the good life-to actually tough it out in the army. Zoya teased lightly

Military life was a whole different beast. Compared to that glam city lifestyle, most folks couldn’t hack the rough times in the squad.

“Yeah… never thought I’d be here, honestly,” Harvey muttered, his gaze lingering on Zoya.

He hadn’t expected to ever fall for someone-least of all like this. But more than that, he never thought he’d always end up a step too late.

‘But now… do I even stand a chance anymore?’ Harvey asked himself, uncertainty gnawing at his heart.

“About that stuff Wren said earlier, don’t let it get to you,” Zoya told him, her words gentle.

“You mean when he basically told me I’d be crazy to even think I could be with you?” Harvey replied plainly. “Well, what if I do care?”

Zoya blinked in surprise, her eyes fixed on Harvey’s face. “You…”

“Zoya, you know something? Back in the army, that was honestly the happiest I’ve ever been,” Harvey admitted. “If you hadn’t ended up marrying Nicolas, I would’ve confessed to you. I liked you. I really did.”
