It exploded out of nowhere.
Amelia herself had no idea until she was jolted awake by a call from Sophia Taylor early the next morning.
Sophia’s booming voice was more effective than any alarm clock. “Girl, get yourself together and get ready to level up. I’m talking A-list status!”
Amelia sat up, rubbing her eyes. “If you’re not dreaming at the crack of dawn, can you at least let me sleep in peace?”
“I’m not dreaming! Seriously, you’re blowing up!”
“But—” Sophia’s tone shifted in an instant. “Please explain why that dump truck is always with you. Don’t tell me you two are back together.”
Now, Amelia was wide awake. She shot back, “Unless Windtopia takes over the world, there’s no way I’m getting back with him.” She hung up, grabbed her phone, and opened the news app.
It wasn’t just the local Silkwood News that had exploded. Short videos, group chats, search engines, Twitter—everything was flooded.
The trending topics glared back at her in bold headlines:
#WhenBrillianceAndBeautyCollide
#ThePowerCoupleYouDidn’tSeeComing—Brains, Looks, Who’s JealousNow
#I’mNotBitterButYouAre—ShippingThisHard
#It’sBeenAgesSinceWeHadSuchHighQualityCouples—FinallySomethingWorthFangirlingOver
Amelia was stunned. It was just a promotional video for the air mobility project—how did this turn into a shipping frenzy? Could people not stay on topic for once?
When she arrived at the research institute that morning, the director called an all-hands meeting.
He animatedly recounted the whole affair. As the center of the viral storm, Amelia felt conflicted. The publicity was way beyond expectations, but it was great for the upcoming press conference, the project, and even for boosting interest in the entire sector.

Sophia’s words seemed to carry a prophecy.

The most outrageous part? Even Ruby’s homeroom teacher sent a message, gushing with the sort of excitement usually reserved for true fans.
She didn’t say she was shipping them—probably thought it wasn’t professional for a teacher to admit it—but from her tone, it was obvious she’d been fangirling in secret.
Left with no other choice, Amelia called Daniel. She knew exactly what his first line would be, so she cut him off before he could even start. “Don’t bother looking out the window—the sun still rises in the east.”
She got straight to the point. “You’re the PR expert. Can you do something to cool down the trending topics?”
Daniel, sitting at his desk with a laptop wallpaper of the two of them together, feigned innocence. “What trending topics?”

How come in every novel I read on here the women don’t tell the men they are the father of their child? I find this ridiculous....
