It was the weekend, and also the end of the year.

Lisa's colleagues at the hospital were already discussing their New Year's Eve plans. But she sat at her desk, wondering how she would get through the holiday.

Lisa snapped back to reality. "No, I need to go home and spend time with my grandparents."

She would also need to bring an emergency kit, just in case they couldn't handle the news. If needed, she'd be ready to provide emergency care.

Martha was also anxious. She sent several messages throughout the day, reminding Lisa to go to the Cohen residence after work.

Last time, Lisa had managed to avoid Logan. This time there was no avoiding it.

Since she couldn't dodge it forever, she decided to face it head-on. After work, she drove straight to the Cohen residence.

Coincidentally, Logan wasn't there.

"Mom, where's Uncle Logan?" she asked.

"He's not back yet." Martha seemed despondent. "He said he'll be bringing someone back for dinner today. He told us to prepare a few extra dishes."

Lisa could feel how tense the atmosphere was at home. She couldn't help but mutter, "He's still acting like nothing's wrong. He's even thinking about dinner."

Martha looked at Lisa. "Liz, from now on, we'll..."
