Lupe’s eyes flashed with confusion, which was not the first time today anyway.
Before she could begin to ponder his words or say anything else, however, Fergus planted a kiss on her lips, trapping her words in her throat. But surprisingly, Lupe shoved him away, cleaning her lips with a hesitant look.
"Not here." She shook her head, her eyes darting around the kitchen.
Fergus tilted his head, a wide grin creeping on his face.
"Aww, someone finally scared we’ll get caught?" He teased, though deep down he mocked Lupe.
Lupe glared at him like he’d gone mad. Then, she almost spoke with a yell. "Yes. Yes, I am, Cullen. I’ve always been scared of getting caught. What we’re doing is not only sinful, it’s also disrespectful doing it under the Gamma’s roof!"
Fergus scoffed, his mind wandering to when he caught Rhett and Isleen ’exploring’ each other’s lips in this very same kitchen. If the Gamma could carry out his ’sinful’ acts here, then why couldn’t he?
He resisted the nagging urge to just snap off Lupe’s neck. He was Fergus the Great! Second in command of the vampire legions and right hand of the lord of the vampires himself. He didn’t care about ’disrespecting’ anyone while he tried having fun.
Fergus raised his hands with a defeated look, as he stepped back.
"Fine then." He shrugged. "But, I get what I want eventually, Lupe. It’s inevitable. I am inevitable."
With that, he went about preparing dinner, he and Lupe pretending like they didn’t just have a heated moment just now. Thirty minutes later, the food was finally ready, simmering hot from the pot.
It was Lupe’s special chicken sauce and spaghetti, made with her mother’s recipe. Fergus hadn’t really done much cooking, but he still proved helpful.
"Bon appetit!" Fergus smacked his lips dramatically, causing Lupe to roll her eyes. However, he had to do something important. He turned to Lupe, giving an innocent smile. "Hey, I’ll start preparing the dishes. Go tell Isleen that dinner is ready."
Lupe eyed him, her tone laced with annoyance. "Why don’t you go tell her yourself, Cullen? I’m exhausted and I did most of the cooking anyway."
Fergus clicked his tongue. Each passing hour he spent with Lupe made him commend himself even more for not killing her and hiding her body. All this pretending would be over soon enough...
"Come on, Lupe. Don’t be a lazy bone." Fergus winked, slowly closing the distance between them. Lupe, seeing what he was about to do, shook her head vigorously.
"Stay back! Jeez, fine, I’ll go get her." She groaned with annoyance before stomping out angrily. Fergus’s chuckle trailed behind her, but once she was out of sight, he brought out a small bottle of a powdered drug.
He’d discreetly snatched it from one of the wolves back at the motel he and Nick went to earlier today, and he’d told himself it would come in handy sometime. It seemed like that time was now.
The drug was an aphrodisiac, a very potent one capable of even affecting werewolves, making their inner wolves feral. He’d smelled it and recognized it cause he’d used it himself on some wolves that he’d had his way with in the past.
He served Isleen’s food first on a plate and then added just a little of the drug to her food, mixing it until it was completely undetectable by even the sharpest wolf nose.
Hehe... delicious! Absolutely, delicious!
