Mated To My Boyfriend's Dad novel Chapter 42

Chapter 42: _ They won’t find them

The next morning, I woke up all thanks to the alarm. I had reset it last night as I and Liam needed to be at the school early. freewebnovel-cσ๓

It wouldn’t be nice for a teacher and her new son to arrive late to school. I knew I’d have lots of questions to answer considering Liam. I didn’t have too many friends among the other teachers as I was usually belittled and judged.

Belittled for being an omega and judged for dating Kylo. Just like everywhere else.

I found Liam already bouncing on the balls of his feet, excitement radiating from him.

"Good morning, Ms. Isleen!" he chirped. "I can’t wait to go to school!"

It was rather rare to find a kid this excited to go to school. It seemed that I had made the right choice of a son.

I smiled, surprised by his enthusiasm. "That’s wonderful, Liam. Did you have a good night’s sleep?"

"The best!" He beamed. "And I already took a bath!"

I raised an eyebrow, impressed. "You did? That’s fantastic. How about you wear your mofty wear today? We can visit your old house to get your things after school."

Liam’s face lit up. "Oh, Can I? But will it be okay?"

I had thought he’d exhibit some kind of sadness at the mention of the house he used to share with his brother but he showed no sign of such.

"Of course," I assured him. "Remember, I’m your teacher, and I can talk to the principal about why you had to wear a mofty."

Perhaps, it was because he was still young. Kids usually don’t grieve as much as we adults do.

Liam wore a top that had gotten small for me and one of my shorts. It took lots of adjusting but we were able to pull an outfit out of those for him.

.

I ushered him to the sitting room so that I’d get dressed myself. As I pulled off the second nightwear I wore for the last night, I couldn’t help but decide that I was losing it.

I heard the mate bond wasn’t to be underestimated. Now, I knew why.

.

Once I stepped out and found the sitting room silent with just the low noises made by the TV because Liam was seeing the news, I knew Cullen must be busy.

"Seen Cullen?" I casually caressed Liam’s hair as I waltzed to the kitchen.

I was going to make us some toast and coffee.

Liam didn’t look at me but he simply replied. "No." His attention was fixated on the screen.

That made me wonder what had snatched his attention, so I skimmed my gaze to the screen. And there, I froze when I saw the headlines.

Another pack of fairy bones had been found.

This was getting out of hand. Without thinking, I hurried to the switch and pulled it off. Liam shouldn’t be watching such. It would only build fear within him.

Or, at least, that was what I thought at that moment. I forgot that awareness was a necessity too.

Liam came protesting. "Why?"

"Don’t watch that, Liam." I shrugged sheepishly and scratched my nape. "You heard Kylo. The killings will soon stop. Let’s not bug ourselves further, okay?"

Sometimes, Liam could remind you that he wasn’t a baby. This was one of those times. "I can handle the news, Ms. Isleen. I need to know."

"Fine." I turned back and replugged the TV set. "Happy watching!"

Anxiety was telling on me. Imagine having to deal with having your boyfriend’s Dad as your mate and then seeing more dead people in your pack daily.
