Mated To My Boyfriend's Dad novel Chapter 81

Chapter 81: _ Aceco Will Tell

Rhett’s fought back a chuckle .

His Initial plan?

A bitter taste filled his mouth. He hadn’t forgotten the Beta’s earlier derision, the way he’d dismissed his suggestion and called him a snitch for suggesting going to Aceco. Darius thought just because he had suggested it before and Rhett discarded it, Rhett coming to the Alpha with the same suggestion seemed hypocritical.

Wasn’t that supposed to mean Rhett agreed to it because he didn’t see any other options?

Even if the Vampires hadn’t died, he doubted they would succumb to torture and sell their kind out. Either way, they were dead. Now, with the situation at the dungeon, it seemed his plan was the only option left.

"Greetings, Alpha Beowulf. It is disheartening to hear that our prisoners had died a useless death." Rhett began. "How did this happen?" he asked, forcing a steady tone.

The Beta, as stocky as he was turned to Rhett with a perpetual scowl and sneered. "Why don’t you find out yourself, Gamma?"

Why the hell was he talking to him?

Ignoring the jab, Rhett clenched his fists as his anger flared. But Farkas discreetly patted him, urging him to remain calm. "Let’s talk inside," Farkas muttered finally, leading him towards the cell block.

The clang of the heavy cell door dinged shut behind them as they stepped into the cell with the dead bodies. The acrid scent of blood was flying in the air, stinging Rhett’s nostrils. It wasn’t just an unpleasant aroma; it was the unmistakable signature of death. Every cell was a scene of horror – the vampires who were once powerful beings that terrorized the restaurant now lay lifeless, bodies sprawled across the cold stone floors.

He stared at the blood-soaked floor, the dead bodies, and how there were no signs of struggles around. "What the hell happened here?" he groaned. "We only know of vampires being killed with a silver weapon and when that happens, they turn to ashes. How come they are all dead but their bodies are all here and intact?"

Farkas let out a heavy sigh. "We don’t know yet. At least, this gives us the assurance that this wasn’t done by one of us. The wolves can’t take down vampires without a form of struggle or using silver on them. This almost seems like some heavy and ancient..."

"Magic." Rhett finished for him.

Only the fey entity was capable of using magic. Did this mean that what Liam said about Reed was true?

This just proved it.

"Do you think the fey did this?" Farkas scratched his chin, looking at the dead bodies on the floor.

Rhett trailed his gaze there. His eyes squinted when he saw a female among them. The others were male but one beautiful girl was lying in her own pool of blood pathetically.

Serves them right; Rhett thought.

Rhett returned his gaze to Farkas. "There are things I’d like to discuss with you. They are the information I acquired from investigating Liam. But I do not want to let the Alpha in on this m yet."

"Oh, right. I almost forgot you headed to interrogate the Liam boy. I guess we’ll discuss that later."

"Yes, we will."

"The Alpha said your initial plan was to go to Aceco?"

"Indeed."

"I thought you were against going to Aceco?"
