Chapter 543 An Answer

I make sure I move around slowly, because I don’t want Orion to suspect anything and I sure as hell don’t want him to tell my Mates. They are protective of me and it will become worse once we have marked each. other, I don’t need them to freak out already.

So far no one has bothered me yet and I really want to see my Mates, but I also like just sitting here with my baby Brother. Something is on his mind and I hope he will talk to me about it, I just don’t know if I will be able to reassure him.

“Sis, do you think I could stay with you for a while? Jasper and I want to get to know our Sister and event though it makes me nervous I would like to get to know our Father.” He finally says and I crawl onto his lap to wrap my arms around him, I know Yade and I want to get to know our baby Brother too.

I want to know how much we are alike, even though we grew up without the other and I know spending time together will answer that question. “You don’t have to be nervous about meeting Dad. He may not like hearing you worked for Calliope, but knowing you warned me in time will make him forget about that.

Orion asks me why I was convicted of assaulting my Luna and after I tell him my life story I need to calm him and Jasper down. He has just settled down a bit when Conri walks in and asks if I am ready for some visitors, “Your friends would like to see with their own eyes that you are doing fine.” He says.

“Did Tarja give you hell?” I ask him, knowing she is usually the one that stays with me until I am rested and good to go again. He just smiles at me as I hear the front door of the cottage open again and before Orion or I can do anything Evander has scooped me up into his arms.

“How are you feeling?” He asks and again I tell them I still feel tired, but that I am slowly getting back to my old self. “This one was a lot tougher than any memory I have ever relived and if I never have to go through one like this ever again in my life, I will die a happy female.” I say.

I am not exaggerating this time, I really hope I never have to relive a memory like this again. I am just glad I found answers for the Council and for Princess Taliyah, I just need to make sure the Council understands that Ayden never knew the truth about what happened that day.

Yonatan hands me a plate of food and Evander looks from the plate to Yonatan. It seems he doesn’t understand why my plate isn’t as full as it usually would be and I explain that the past has taught us that sometimes my stomach can’t handle large amounts of food.

“So instead of getting a full plate Yonatan makes sure I get another plate once we are sure my stomach can handle it.” I say and Evander nods his head before he buries his nose into my neck again, but he can’t enjoy it long as Conri pulls me out of his arms to nuzzle me himself.

“What happened after I passed out?” I ask before I dig into my food and for a moment it is quiet. Orion tells me that Jasper had smelled Malik when they neared the cottages and that it took him a bit to convince Evander and Mylo to follow him to the cottage we are currently in.

“Captain Armand and Conri went after Orion and Evander, the rest of us spread out to surroun whoever was here. We didn’t know it was Malik’s way of warning Orion, but it worked out just great.” Callen says. “Alexia thought of a way to draw attention to her by chasing after Theron.”

I nearly choke on my food as I imagine how she might have chased after him and when Evander tells the what he saw through the window I spit out the coffee I have in my mouth. “Just to make it clear, you volunteered to help Alexia with this distraction?” I ask Theron and he nods his head.

“Let me guess, none of them warned you it wasn’t a good idea to become her victim?” I ask and the look on his face tells me all I need to know. “You do realize that this will be repeated to anyone that is willing to listen.” I state and Theron buries his head in his hands as he groans loudly.

Callen tells me they took down Calliope, Wenonah and Cederick, but that Malik took out the Warriors they had taken with them. When he tells me how Malik had walked up to them holding on to two Wolves as if they were mere Pups my jaw drops.

“Where is he? I would like to meet him.” I ask and Callen tells me he is outside with Captain Armand. Orion gets up as he tells me he will ask Malik to come in and as he walks outside I finish my breakfast. I snuggle into Conri arms after I place my plate on the table.

I hear heavy footsteps walk into the room and I turn towards the male that just entered the room. Callen hadn’t been lying when he said that Malik was a giant, my eyes travel up his body higher and higher and I softly mutter, “Fuck, he is huge.” Making both my Mates growl.

My eyes widen the moment I look into his eyes and for a moment I am at a loss for words, “You,” is all I can whisper as I stare into a pair of eyes I have only seen twice in my memories. Everyone looks at me as I see a confused look in Malik’s eyes.

“I don’t think we ever met, Umayza.” Malik says and I tell him to sit down as I ask Yonatan for a refill on my coffee, I am not sure how I am going to explain this to Malik. I just know I need to let him know that I am aware of what he did that day.

“Malik, you are correct. You and I have never met before today and I can not tell you everything I saw when I was reliving those memories, but I will explain why I know about you.” I say as I take my coffee from Yonatan and I take a sip before I place it on the table beside the couch.

“I found all the answers I was looking for and I will only reveal them during the trial, but it also left me with a question I can’t answer. I relived a memory that didn’t take place at White Horn Pack and I don’t understand why, maybe I should ask the Council if I can talk to Calliope.

She might be able to tell me why or how I relived that memory, but I can tell you that the memory is connected to you, Malik.” I say as I look at him. “I witnessed this memory through the eyes of a newborn Pup, I saw and heard everything this Pup did.

You found four Pups that day, two of them were newborn and they were tied to the back of a young male Pup. A young female Pup was with them and I know they are siblings from what I witnessed. I was looking into your eyes as you picked him up.

You told them they did a good job getting them to safety and that you would make sure they got to the Sanctuary.” The more I say the stranger the look on his face becomes, but then a smile appears on his face and he tells me that he found the Pups miles away from White Horn Pack.

“They had run into a Rogue and even though he had his baby Sister and two newborns with him he did his best to protect them, I took care of the Rogue as he protected the others. He didn’t tell me much, just that he couldn’t go back to their territory and I could tell he was telling the truth.

I have connections to the Sanctuary through the Council and I knew it was the best place for them to go. I have no idea if the Council ever found out from which Pack they are, but thinking about it I doubt he ever revealed that information.” Malik explains.
