Stephanie spent the day at her new company, and she was settling in quite well.
OSALA Group had a positive work environment, and sales of their new models hadn't been affected by the negative press about her online.
Modern consumers were becoming more discerning; the quality of a car was judged by experience, not by public opinion.
She spent the day reviewing documents, familiarizing herself with the company’s online products and operational procedures. Near the end of the workday, she received a call.
“Stephanie, are you busy? Would you like to come over for dinner tonight?” It was Ternence.
Stephanie paused. Jonathan had sent her a text at noon saying he had taken action at Meridian Consortium, so she knew Quennel was out of the company.
But knowing Quennel, she doubted he would give up so easily. After all, he had poured years of his life into Meridian.
For Ternence to call at this particular moment, it surely had to be related.
Previously, the Gonzalez father and son had a falling out over Victoria, with Ternence even threatening to disown Quennel.
But now that Quennel had broken things off with Victoria, Ternence likely wouldn’t abandon his only son. As they say, blood is thicker than water.
Stephanie fell silent for a moment.
Regardless of her own issues with Quennel, Mr. Gonzalez had always treated her well over the years, and she had practically grown up in their home.
If Ternence wanted to see her, it was only right for her to go. In a way, he was the closest thing she had to family.
After work, Stephanie took a taxi to the Gonzalez residence.
Knowing she was coming, Wilma was in the kitchen, directing the staff as they prepared dinner.
But just a few seconds after she walked in the door, Jonathan called. “Why haven’t you come down yet? Are you working late?”
