Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 69

Finding a new apartment wasn't something that could be done in a day or two, so Stephanie decided to stay in a hotel for a while.

Fortunately, she didn't have that much to pack.

“Cecilia, I have to go. I need to start packing.”

Cecilia quickly offered, “Can you manage on your own? Should I ask Joseph to help you move?”

“No, that’s okay. It’s just a few clothes, and besides…” Stephanie paused for a moment. “I don’t think Mr. Vasquez would appreciate someone else setting foot in his private territory.”

Half an hour later, Stephanie left the house with her bags.

Since she was dragging a suitcase, she found a nearby hotel, checked in, and dropped off her things.

Once that was done, Stephanie took a cab to Ironhold Investment Group.

The Ironhold Investment Group tower scraped the sky, the tallest building in all of Veridian. It was said that from the top floor, you could see the entire city.

Naturally, only the most elite of the elite worked here. As Stephanie stepped out of her cab, a doorman in white gloves held the door open for her.

She nodded her thanks and walked straight to the reception desk with a smile. “Hello, I’m here to see your boss.”

The receptionist glanced up, arching an eyebrow. “Do you have an appointment?”

Stephanie paused.

She had spoken to Jonathan on the phone yesterday, but did that count as an appointment? He hadn’t exactly agreed to meet her.

After a moment of silence, Stephanie asked, “Can I make one now?”

“I’m sorry, but you’ll have to check back in two weeks. Mr. Vasquez’s schedule is fully booked for the next fortnight.”

Stephanie frowned. She could tell she was being brushed off.

Security at Ironhold was tighter than anywhere else. If the receptionist wouldn’t let her through, she couldn’t go up.

After a moment's hesitation, Stephanie took out her phone and dialed Jonathan’s number.
