On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 285

Jessica’s brow furrowed. “But now he’s the one who owes a favor.”

Mr. Collins gave her a meaningful look. “Ms. Brown, you’re still young. You don’t understand how the world works. When you reach Mr. George’s level, people will be lining up to do things for him.”

Jessica fell silent.

“You have a resource like Mr. George by your side,” he said with a knowing smile. “You should learn to use it.”

“We’re friends,” Jessica stated flatly.

Mr. Collins paused, then chuckled, as if amused by her naivete—or perhaps by his own mercenary nature.

Anthony returned, his phone still in his hand. He gave Jessica a slight nod.

“Is it resolved?” Mr. Collins asked excitedly.

“Add warnings to the scenes with heavy drinking immediately,” Anthony said, his tone even.

Jessica nodded quickly. “The post-production team already has them ready. We just need platform access to replace the files.”

“I’ll have them grant you access right away,” Mr. Collins said eagerly. He hurried to his desk, picked up his landline, and made a call. “Grant Ardor modification privileges now.”

Jessica sent a quick message to Rebecca, then put her phone away. She looked at Anthony, her eyes filled with gratitude. “Thank you.”

He shook his head. “You’re welcome.”

Mr. Collins returned, beaming. “Let me treat you both to dinner tonight.”

Jessica glanced at the time; it was four in the afternoon. “We’ll have to pass on dinner, but thank you for your cooperation. I hope we can continue to work together in the future.”

Mr. Collins extended his hand, and Jessica shook it.

The assistant stomped her foot playfully. “Mr. Collins, stop teasing me.”

His thoughts drifted back to Jessica. He sat down, shaking his head with a wry smile. “When faced with that kind of beauty, things like being married with a child become irrelevant.”

His assistant was starting to understand. “You’re talking about Ms. Brown and Mr. George, aren’t you? But the George family would never approve of them. And there’s no guarantee he would choose her in the end.”

Mr. Collins pointed a finger at her. “You’re still too young. You don’t know how to read people.”

“…”

Rebecca met Jessica as she returned. “The editing team is done. They just need to upload the new file.”

Jessica patted her shoulder. “It’s all taken care of. Don’t worry.”

Rebecca nodded, then turned to Anthony. “Mr. George, thank you so much.”
