On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 32

A heavyset man with a bloated face grabbed her wrist. “Let’s get a room.”

The skinny man nodded eagerly and pulled out his phone to call the front desk.

Helpless and alone, Jessica was dragged toward a private room. Her struggles and cries were loud, but no one came.

As they passed the elevator, the doors slid open.

Jessica looked up, clinging to a final, desperate sliver of hope. She met the furious, dark eyes of Lance Smith.

He stepped out of the elevator, his face a storm of rage, his eyes bloodshot. He looked like a husband who had just caught his wife cheating.

The word “Help!” died in her throat.

Lance advanced on them, his steps slow and deliberate.

The heavyset man spoke up quickly. “Hey, if you want a piece, you’ll have to get in line. We’re first, and we’re pretty damn good. You probably won’t get a turn tonight. Maybe try again tomorrow.”

Lance’s voice was a low growl, filled with barely contained violence. “Get lost.”

The man chuckled. “You must not know how things work here. It doesn’t matter how rich or tough you are. It’s first come, first served. We saw her first. No amount of money is gonna let you cut the line.”

Lance’s burning gaze was fixed on Jessica. “I told you not to work, so you come here to sell your body? Are you that cheap, Jessica? Will you sleep with any man who pays? Is this your way of getting back at me?”
